dlewis23 Posted April 28, 2006 CID Share Posted April 28, 2006 As it turns out their is a way to bypass x-ray machines. Check this out. Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura said today that he will issue a warning to other police agencies after his officers seized an assault weapon made with so little metal it does not clearly show up on a security X-ray. Narcotics officers found the Professional Ordnance Carbon-15 Type-97 pistol in the car of a drug suspect in Newark and noticed it was a cut above the usual weaponry employed by local drug dealers, Fontoura said. Officers in his ballistics laboratory, who said they had never seen an assault weapon made with so much plastic, had it taken to Newark Liberty International Airport earlier today for a test-run through the security scanners

EWO Posted April 29, 2006 CID Share Posted April 29, 2006 Barrel, bolt, striker and I think two slender guide rails, maybe a spring, firing pin Just guesses!!!! Question - there's a .223 cal pistol cartridge??? I'm running behind since I retired. http://bastardsinc.blogs.com/bastardsinc/2004/08/bushmaster_carb.html Here is a link to look and read about it. BTW it's 20 inches long
jstone Posted April 29, 2006 CID Share Posted April 29, 2006 A glock will be detected. If not it is the guards incompetence. Thats the thing that bothers me. the types we put our "SECURITY" in the hands of. If the rifel you speak of isn't detected than the AMMO surely will be. I have killed deer with 223. they are a nasty bullet. BTW Gald you are still here s1

cholla Posted April 29, 2006 CID Share Posted April 29, 2006 I'm always trying to improve things. Why not make one like this but put enough metal in the right places in the plastic gun so it does look like a curling iron on the xray.
