wyantm06 Posted May 6, 2006 Author CID Share Posted May 6, 2006 Wait? I put it in Hibernation and started my PC back up and AIM was disconnected. When my friend puts his on Hibernate and starts the PC back up his AIM is still on when he returns. How can I enable it so connection to internet or whatever stays on when on Hibernation? wyantm06 Posted May 6, 2006 Author CID Share Posted May 6, 2006 I am up too, what is AIM? AOL Instant Messenger...Nah I got Cable Internet! It disconnects AIM if I put it on Hibernation mode, I am just wondering if there is a way to make it so it doesn't disconnect. My friend's doesn't when he has his on Hibernation. tommie gorman Posted May 6, 2006 CID Share Posted May 6, 2006 Did you ask him? Maybe he did something. I don't use AOL. Or any messenger. Sorry. Good luck.
php Posted May 6, 2006 CID Share Posted May 6, 2006 When your computer is hibernating, nothing is running. I don't care what your friend says, but his computer isn't signed on to AIM when it's in hibernation mode. Maybe he's signed on from another computer, or the server just isn't reflecting that he signed off.
richcornucopia Posted May 6, 2006 CID Share Posted May 6, 2006 Maybe he is signed in from a cellphone when hibernating?
solidsnake Posted May 6, 2006 CID Share Posted May 6, 2006 maybe on a fast connection aim immediately signs back in on resuming windows (due to some option)

I'm going to have to go with php, the aim servers are not seeing that his computer is off, because he never really singed off of aim, so the server still thinks he is there.
