Welcome!

DON'T use the smart test for a sat connection.  It is never accurate.  Use the 2992KB test for downloads, and at least the 579KB test for uploads.

Not really, I've been using direcpc (one-way) since early 1999 so I would tend to guess I'm an old timer. I get slow-downs and then I run three spyware programs, sometimes twice each, and my speeds come back. I have also found that there is a difference between PC's, not much but could be up to 200 Kbps. So since I have the time I clean house often, my PC's I mean.
