elijahpaul Posted March 1, 2007 CID Share Posted March 1, 2007 elijahpau, how about using opendns.org on smart bro? does it optimize internet connection speed? you can use open dns but it doesn't optimize your speed. what open dns do is just replace your default dns server on smart bro (which is sometimes better) but you will hardly notice any difference. just want to ask if only the pins 4 and 6 will be shorted ryt? so the remaining pins 1,2,3,5 will be hanging free(not touching each other)..what if ill put a wire only for the two pins that shorted pins 4 and 6, then the rest pinss 1,2,3,5 will be blank, if you use a tester only pins 4 and 6 will have the continuity is that possible? is it the same effect with the canopy(will be resetted)..? yes that's correct. you can leave the pins 1,2,3, and 5 hanging free without touching each other. though i don't think you can leave those pin locations blank in the RJ-11 socket(is this what you mean?) because i haven't tried it yet. if posible..("correct me if im wrong..") assuming that i resetted my canopy, the default settings will be back ryt? what default configuration should i put then? for exmaple the IP configuration, if the canopy will be resetted, the IP configuration that smart broken inputed there will be gone, in that case even if i reset my canopy my connection will totally out..so what should i do then..? yes the default settings will be back. just leave the IP configuration. it will not be gone. if you cannot connect to Smart BRO after resetting, download their QuickFix program and use it. sirkeled Posted March 2, 2007 CID Share Posted March 2, 2007 Triny ko i-tweak 'yung canopy settings (motorola, kapareho nu'ng nasa image). Ano ba gagawin after pindutin 'yung "reboot"? sirkeled Posted March 2, 2007 CID Share Posted March 2, 2007 Oops, sorry. Is Tagalog not allowed? Anyway, as I was saying, I changed the canopy settings (motorola, corresponds with the sample image). But when pressed "reboot," I got disconnected. After waiting for a few moments, my connection went back but I cannot open any website. So what I did was to revert to the default IP address setting on the Control Panel. What should I do after pressing "reboot"? Do I really need to revert to the old settings after accessing the canopy? Thanks!
elijahpaul Posted March 2, 2007 CID Share Posted March 2, 2007 you did the right thing.. lol i kinda forgot to put in my tut to bring back the IP address to auto after tweaking.. i assumed everyone would know that.. anyway, thanks.. i'll edit the tut right away. In Tagalog - paki post ang tulin ng connection mo pagka-tapos ng kalikot. gamitin mo yung testmy tulin test at paki gamit yung large file -

jovantot Posted March 3, 2007 CID Share Posted March 3, 2007 @jovantot Thank's for the Welcome... yup i already read the instructions, the only thing that i cant figure out is how to access the canopy page. coz i cannot access the page with the default ip (169.254.1.1), nabasa ko kasi tungkol dun sa locked na ip, wish na me makuha ako pano ko ma access thru mac to ip address i read it from one of the forums and they discuss it how does the installer generate the ip address, i just cant figure out how can i get that SM mac add. thanks for the reply's

elijahpaul Posted March 3, 2007 CID Share Posted March 3, 2007 ^Here's my canopy settings now: I've done it correctly right? And I also pressed "reboot" after. BTW, I'm located at Taytay. wait.. before you clicked REBOOT. have you clicked Save Changes? @jovantot you can't change your own IP address and connect to Smart BRO. dynamic po kasi eh. hindi talaga pwede. although once in a while they change your IP address. anyway, you can see your MAC address on your surge suppressor (the little box that connects the two cables from the computer to the antenna - please take not that it's not the power supply connection). i suggest you to try and use a default plug instead. jovantot Posted March 3, 2007 CID Share Posted March 3, 2007 THanks for the reply @elijahpaul here is the wierd thing the installer dont install the surge suppressor derekta ang nilagay nilang cable from antena to the power supply connection, what do you mean gamitin ko ung default plug? could you please ellaborate thanks @overboost for the referal.. elijahpaul Posted March 3, 2007 CID Share Posted March 3, 2007 Read this: Default Plug Guide If I were you, I'd call the customer support and ask for the surge suppressor (it's free). 'cause when lightning strikes your antenna, at least your computer won't get damaged (correct me if I'm wrong).
