mudmanc4 Posted March 8, 2007 CID Share Posted March 8, 2007 AVG, paid version. It has a great FW, easyly configured. The free version is just as good, but does not contain the FW, and many of the features. No problems w/ either : )

leoinnj Posted March 8, 2007 CID Share Posted March 8, 2007 I have been using AVG for a couple of years. I recommend it to all of my friends. I use Comcast, and you can download Mcafee free, but from all that I have read, it is not very compatable with WinXP Pro.
starship_troopers Posted March 8, 2007 CID Share Posted March 8, 2007 mcafee came on my laptop when i ordered it (has media center) and i promptly uninstalled it and put on avg. so i cant really say how mcafee actually does.

tommie gorman Posted March 8, 2007 CID Share Posted March 8, 2007 Avira AntiVir Personal Edition is free, but limited. http://www.free-antivirus.info/anti-virus/antivir-personal-edition.html AOL Active Virus Shield (Kaspersky Antivirus). AOL does not specify whether the product is time-limited. However, the initial expiration date in the program license info is set at one year from the date of installation. http://www.free-antivirus.info/antivirus/aol-active-virus-shield-kaspersky-antivirus.html Just a couple more. Although I prefer my AVG Free.
