mudmanc4 Posted August 16, 2008 CID Share Posted August 16, 2008 Do you thin you could post your settings for others to try ? If it works then I'll sticky it
johnrance87 Posted August 16, 2008 Author CID Share Posted August 16, 2008 Please dont post links from that site, they have been banned for spamming this site, thanks. haha! why is [this.site.has.been.banned.for.spammig] giving me erroneous results after doing coolbuster's 20 steps? oh btw, about my speed i just posted , maybe, if you don't mind me saying in Filipino: "nabigla lang cguro".. Don't know much really about it. I'm happy though, now i know that a little more increase of height in my canopy's pole should do the trick and perhaps I can make it to 1000kbps download   Thanks again! ianonline Posted August 16, 2008 CID Share Posted August 16, 2008 thats what this community is all about.. friendly solution... and yeah I will take your excuse for saying that line. lol "nagbigla lang siguro" which means could be that it was just caught by surprise... and by the way there are threads where you can post your speed.. once again try using the SEARCH BOX.. thats what it is for... johnrance87 Posted August 20, 2008 Author CID Share Posted August 20, 2008 --without proxy neat huh?! though using proxies are deceiving, but still, they let you see the "look and feel" of a tweaked Smartbro speed.. ahehe

coolbuster2007 Posted August 21, 2008 CID Share Posted August 21, 2008 @ mudmanc4 OT i like that bug in your sig. it's directing us to the folding at home thread, why is that?
mudmanc4 Posted August 21, 2008 CID Share Posted August 21, 2008 Quote @ mudmanc4 OT i like that bug in your sig. it's directing us to the folding at home thread, why is that? Wow, your not the first one to recognise the little bugger, but your the first that noticed, or at least said something about it. I see folding@home as one of the most self aware, selfless issues that any , and all of us can do for the em-betterment of the human race. Folding doesn't care who, or what you are, nor where on this Earth we live. But what Folding does do is give the genius researchers, and scientists advantage over the many mutations that efflict us in a medical way. From every disease, to illness, thats what they are working on. You don't have to have a blazin computer, or even a fast internet connection, every single work unit brings something to the plate. Folding is well known among avid internet users, but yet sits quietly from the general public. It's just my way of trying to bring awareness to what is going on at stanford university. So "catch " the bug, and fold . I didn't put the link in the bug, so if anyone wanted to use it, there is no adverse goodies in there, but really, it would be nice if anyone using the bug would place the link in there as well. Here's the code to place the bug in your sig, and link to the testmy.net folding thread. Just copy, and paste into your sig

teejz Posted August 21, 2008 CID Share Posted August 21, 2008 Just lucky that I have a base station that seems to be neglected (going to be decommissioned soon). It's a stock canopy installation with 1MB cap (no tweaks). It should be more if Smart hadn't replaced my legacy Canopy antenna (see signature...). The base station I am supposed to be on is hell slow. So I'm making the most of this base station, while it lasts.

teejz Posted August 21, 2008 CID Share Posted August 21, 2008 Quote clever! time will come that smart will install each user its own base station at home. ahahaha Hehe... well, what I meant was "The base station I am connected to right now..." my bad. "Color Code 10" is the old AP/Backhaul that is to be decommissioned. (Really fast access... probably due to Smart slowly moving users to an new AP, which is "Color Code 5"). And "Color Code 5" is really sucky... with 200 Kbps average, and very high 'Jitter'. =( But still... the Smart dudes have been roving around the neighborhood changing Canopy antennas and 'rehoming' to a new base station (backhaul installation)... and from the looks of it. Older Canopy versions don't play well to new base station installations. Or probably a silly excuse to weed out tweakers... Good... (Til' the end of the month...) Sucks... (Probably the reason, if I ever change ISP's)

johnrance87 Posted August 28, 2008 Author CID Share Posted August 28, 2008 @ponat Congrats Bro! Good for You, just keep on monitoring your speed <hoping it stays that way!> Don't go chasing for speeds that you perceive would be impossible to reach given your current location. Learn from me, I used to be not contented with my 550+ kbps CONSTANT speed. You know with all those blazing speeds posted in TMN you can't help but going after a wild goose chase. To cut the story short, I switched to another Base Station<which I initially thought was good since it has only 3 users with 100% uplink and downlink connectivity> which gave me crappy browsing speed but rather good on uTorrent Downloads.. Anyway, I'll try to pan my SM back to my old Base Station and hopefully gain back my former glory.. ahehe
