netmasta Posted March 13, 2005 CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 It freezes at 40% on a DVD file. ..... It can sometimes take a long time to defrag large files. It may also help if you defrag in safe mode. Reboot and press F8 and select safe mode.
resopalrabotnick Posted March 13, 2005 CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 if you still have the dvd file problem read on, otherwise, fuggedaboudit. if you have multiple partitions, defrag one, move the dvd file to it, then defrag the partition the dvd file lives in. then move the dvd file back. moving it to a defragged partition will ensure that it stays more or less unfragged, and in any case the other files on that partition are defragged. its a workaround but it should work.
