cak46 Posted June 9, 2005 CID Share Posted June 9, 2005 So, I called Dell to order a new system for one of my staff and they start asking me questions like "What are you going to use the computer for" and "Are you buying it for parts" or to export it? I started questioning her about why she wanted to know this info, and was told the FTC is requiring it under the Patriot Act now. Has anyone else run into this, or was the dell dudess just jerkin' my chain?

peepnklown Posted June 9, 2005 CID Share Posted June 9, 2005 They were not joking; the Patriot Act has a lot of stuff like that. The government is probably recording the conversation also (which they can do under the Patriot Act).
