billybob12345 Posted June 11, 2005 CID Share Posted June 11, 2005 did you try spybot search and destroy? that might work and also try adaware se if you haven't... do you know where you might have gotten this from??? like what site or something...becasue i had a problem like this kinda where everytime i would open ie it would go to a site that wasn't my homepage and make new dialup connections in my network connections...i ran my avg free edition, my spybot, adaware and went to the trend micro virus scan site...it got rid of it... you may also want to try to full virus scan at pc pitstop..i haven't tried that site but it is supposed to be a really good site...i have been there before and it looks fine. and make sure that your firewall is turned on too so maybe next time you won't get this.. -------------------- billybob

Shug; great minds think alike.... duffman - You really should try running an AV while in safe mode. This just happened to another user a couple of days ago. Refer to this thread: https://testmy.net/forum/t-5715 There's a couple of pointers there on running a scan in Safe Mode ( can't hurt). Guest philp Posted June 12, 2005 CID Share Posted June 12, 2005 HI i got a se.dll trojan thing and it ruining the internet explorer i think its called like horse trojan and everytime i run ie it goes to about blank and it makes it slow i cannot deleete it and if i do it comes back i tried hijack this and adware programs help Run AdAware and find the file that it can not delete. Then boot up in safe mode and manually delete that file. I had to do the same thing on my niece's computer last week. The file had "infiltrated" IE and Windows now thinks it's an imporatnt file so it won't let it be deleted. That's why you have to do it in safe mode.
