mudmanc4 Posted April 22, 2008 CID Share Posted April 22, 2008 I think the problem I'm running into is that I cannot get a solid power light on either voip router Yes, this means the router is trying to register w/ the vonage server. I don't understand, have you reset the routers w/ the reset switch in the back, by holding the switch in for at least 15 - 25 seconds? Leave the power on, hold the reset button down until you see the lights on the front change , either all go off, or start blinking all t once or something like that. We have to at least get them reset, That way they have a while to get there server info. I know you can't see straight anymore, as well as me. itchiemitten Posted April 24, 2008 CID Share Posted April 24, 2008 Are you there? Just got back from dinner and have a little time left in me. I'm able to get into both vonage routers and things are set back to their original settings. I'm pretty sure I know the passwords for the internet
mudmanc4 Posted April 24, 2008 CID Share Posted April 24, 2008 Just go into the router in which the voip routers are connected to, look for the QOS settings, whatever port the voip routers are connected to , set that port for priority, or higher bandwidth than the others. POst the router model number , and i'll look into the manual to guide you.
itchiemitten Posted April 24, 2008 CID Share Posted April 24, 2008 Sorry I didn't respond last night. I decided to lay on the couch and watch a little TV waiting for you to come online and the next thing I knew it was 2:00 am. I'm here, so if you're up to it we can see what type of damage we can do.The vonage routers model # is VT2142-VD
itchiemitten Posted April 25, 2008 CID Share Posted April 25, 2008 Not sure which router you wanted the model# for the linksys router model # os wrt54G
itchiemitten Posted April 25, 2008 CID Share Posted April 25, 2008 I found the QoS section in the linksys router I have 2 options Application-based Qos: You may control your bandwidth with respect to the application that is consuming bandwidth. There are several pre-configured applications. You may also customize up to three applications by entering the port number they use. Port-based QoS: You may control your bandwidth according to which physical LAN port your device is plugged into. You may assign High or Low priority to devices connected on LAN ports 1 through 4. Currently everything is set a low
mudmanc4 Posted April 25, 2008 CID Share Posted April 25, 2008 ok, I only have a minute. The port number that the cat5 cable that connects the voip routers either 1,2,3or 4 , set that port to the highest, and you'll be golden. there's no need to get into the application settings.
