Krazyrag if u think like that you will be waiting and deciding FOREVER. Cuz the fact is once u buy a new top of the line computer the next month a new technology of somthing fast has come out. So it would be better just to buy one now or wait untill more 64bit notebooks come out. I havent seen a amd notebook that has evevrything top of the line like the Xps gen 2.

Yea im going to go with the Dell 9300 with the cupons and that that goes with $1271

then i can wait till 64bit gets strong and ill buy the desktop with 64bit support

See most laptops only have two areas to put in the ram, and the ram that is currently in it is dual channel mode occupied by two 256MB sticks.

So you cannot simply add ram, you have to "replace it". So in replacing I would make sure you max it out to 2 gb OF DUAL channel ram (expensive but when upgrading dual channel ram it is a must). You still would lose the orginal 512 or whatever it is. Sell it to a friend MB?

Dual Channel has no effect on the Inspiron 9300's because the processor and ram  both run at 533 Mhz

no that i know of..  you can do what ever you want with the memory.. I am not sure if you try and send it back to dell because it is not booting with memory you installed.. that might be a problem..
