Should be 9X that. Oh well.

I have downloaded 15GB in a night, but I ran out of things to download.

Ca3le, find me something over a gig to download on a server. I'm bored.

I have false hopes that someday my upload speeds will return to what i was had. I must get over it' date=' but it's so hard. *looks around for someone to hug*[/quote']

When is your contract up? You can always cancel instead of re-upping your contract... Then sign up again. Maybe this will lift whatever restrictions you have? :?:

Wow, I just realized my browser has been signifigantly lowering my speed tests. I tried that 12mb test with the browser I mostly use, Maxthon, and found it would freeze about half way through, then snap to the DONE! image at the end. The test results would be anywhere from 19XX-28XXmbit. Just to see if it would still freeze or not, I decided to run that same test in IE 6, and all tests, from the smallest all the way up to the 12mb, were consistantly 29XX-30XX. This surprised me a little seeing as how Maxthon is an IE based browser. No matter. I now know to use IE to take speed tests from now on.

EDIT:

Btw, here's pretty much what I consistantly get, with about a 100-150bit range, when I test with IE 6.

Maybe you should use it for all your internet browsing lol..... why test with something to make the test faster when you dont even use it to look at pageS?!!!

The page loads are fast, regardless of which browser I use. I like how forgiving the IE core is when reading languages, but IE is just too featureless to me. That's why I use Maxthon. It has tons of features and is based on IE. Maxthon hasn't been out of beta stages long, but it is shaping up quite nicely. It's a great broswer once you get the hang of it. Just don't use it for speed tests. :?

I tried Mr. Hahn's thing with testing using IE and its funny because my speeds are higher than my normal browser which is Avant, why does it seem weird that a faster browser will give me lower test speeds and that IE will give me higher speeds

I usually test higher with Firefox than I do with IE. Although I'm hitting around the same with both browsers.

This one is IE:

I like Firefox for the simple reason that it's more secure than IE, but everyone has their own opinions. I have both but I use Firefox the most. Some of my friends tried Firefox and said that they like IE alot better. So it's up to the individual. :):)

The security issues with IE have pretty much been eliminated with SP2 as far as I know. But, if you use a good firewall, anti-virus, and anti-trojan, those security issues should be null regardless. I like Firefox's feature set, but it conforms to W3C's web standards when reading web languages. Frankly, most, or at least many websites don't code to those standards yet. Pages can be displayed in a way the coder didn't intend as a result. Sure, Firefox has great features and conforms to the current standards, and that's fine. But, until all websites start conforming to those standards, I'm not using it. The biggest gripes people have about IE is the lack of features and security issues. There are browsers out there based on IE that surpass Firefox in feature sets, and good security programs as I mentioned above as well as SP2 resolve the security complaints.

Yes Firefox does not have the security problems that IE has, but I think like MAC there are not enough users for the hackers to spend time trying to corrupt the database. It seems that hackers want more bang for their time so they go after the most widely used browser, I may be wrong but I believe they all are vulnerable to attack if the people that cause this harm want to spend their time going after it.
