Yea what he means is were under the same network or whatever TWC controls RR,Earthlink,and a few other ISPs depending on where u live,so basically were all the same,so we all get the same speeds And in this case .s1 is the only one always hitting above his cap BTW I hit over 5 too :::.. LOL I know what u mean because I live in Astoria too,used to be 3 blocks away from the Co. but now am 10,000 feet which is still close,and always wonder the same thing,why are they so damn slow. But I do love my Earthlink service and it would be hard for me to switch,thats why I hope that either TWC upgrade,and I mean upgrade or Earthlink gets to provide my internet through FIOS,which i hear is in the works. BTW: a 384 Kbps upload is really annoying in the year 2005

Well I dont know why that happens,but testmy.net is the most accurate testing site in the world,so what you get here is most likely your true speed,and if thats the case there is something wrong.I have Earthlink too and I get what I pay for,maybe frequent disconnections lately but speed is always up to par

Well heres a definition for it: This is system memory that is simulated by the hard drive. When all the RAM is being used (for example if there are many programs open at the same time) the computer will swap data to the hard drive and back to give the impression that there is slightly more memory So in other words when all your RAM is being taken up,your Hard drive acts like a RAM to a certain extent
