Assuming the third post is a cablenut settings. Don't forget that the wrong settings will actually slow down your connection speed. Use your back up file and it will go back to normal. That is why I use the TCP instead. Not too many ways to screw it up. And you did clean out your cache and defrag regularly?

Cavalier DSL ( Cavtel.net )
tommie gorman replied to LorNicon's topic in Cavalier Telephone cavtel.net
Welcome to the forum Landin Also have you read this? "Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer " http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 -
The best I can hope for right now is 6.0 DSL. But I have heard that 8.0 is now available in places, so maybe when they get off of their duffs and bring it on down the street, it will be 8.0. Now that would be like heaven for this poor sat user. I would have to take a day off just to play with it. *dances a jig*

Not as long as I bring my own seatbelt. But it would take me a week to get out of withdrawal symptoms, at least!

It is a pain, but "no pain, no gain" as they always say. At least you are on the right track. I am not even going to post mine slower, it was like 290 D/L. Really slow tonight.

OK Mtal1ca this is what you do. Test on the hughes.net site for speeds. If you are doing this badly on TMN (which I get better speeds on here) it will show up for them to seriously take a look at. I very seriously think they will let you out. They live to get us on the 15 month contract. So go from there. And instead of e-mailing them just use the phone. It is easier for me anyway. They may need to redo you internet settings in internet options. The phone number is .1-866-825-4950. Good luck.

Hey, some people are at their best then. Especially when I am playing billiards.

Yeah, so Happy Birthday to all of you fella's and gal's on this special occassion of your birthday. (when your mother was in labor for 9 hours straight, and having to carry you around for the other 9 months) just kidding really ). And many more. Hey Sparticus013, where the icecream -
You ever tried dial-up 28kbps. Sparticus013? Satelite beats the heck out of that.

But they have been out and getting talked about for the first 3 months. So your 3 months + my 3 months means 6 months. I may not be real techy, but I can add. Amazing how these guys can be so convincing. But really a good place to find things out. What a great bunch of guys. OK, yeah, even shug.

Really more true than you think. But if you wait long enough for the very best, it will never get here. Because as soon as you think this again, you will be waiting on the next upgrade. Sometimes you just have to decide what you want and go for it. Quad will be surpassed also. Whatever you buy wll be good for about 6 months.

Nice read EWO, thanks. -
Then you are OK, at least 1/2 of you has seen it and can share it with them. Really rent some of them, especiallly a collectors edition would be nice. Oh, and make sure it has the newer Curly Joe, it does make a difference.

I had to watch it again out of curiousity, yeah it is just as good the third time around. -
Bacon, have you tried running your AV programs in safe mode? And do you also have AVG's anti spyware? I also run Spyware Blaster and WIndows Defender. One other one I use when things are really weird is AVG's vcleaner. Also on the same site. Run all those in safe mode, (not with networking, even though it will run slower) it seems to take a few hours) and things will be begging to leave your computer.

Only one Mtal1ca . Read the first post and follow it word for word. Also use the attachment over the pic., not the one below it. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1703.0 Also to achieve the best performance out of your computer I suggest doing these following: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 I do most of it daily, I hate any slow downs on sat, it is slow enough by itself. And weekly maintenance clean-up.

I was curious if this was still helping folks out much. It has been my best satelite tweak ever, of course I am still on the 6000 though. All I can say dlewis is, it would well be worth seeing all you could rent. They are so famous it stinks. The curly shuffle is one of the most famous dances around. The Moe *smack*. You have just got to rent or buy all you can. If nothing else so you can share it with your youngens. Really. Now ask your new bride if she has seen any? There has got to be a little 3 stooges in every relationship. I thought there was only one Larry too.

What were the differences between the speeds of both. Ethernet is supposed to be faster. Also I do maintenance daily. It does help. I am so used to it running right, it bugs me when it is off just a bit now.

Welcome to the forum Bacon Try reading here. Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 Then you might try tweaking it. TCP Optimizer is easiest, but cablenut is the tweakable one. They are both there. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013 Good luck and have fun, hope it gets faster for you.

You might try reading here. Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 A dirty computer can not run fast. Then try tweaking. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013 And welcome to the forum breadboi if I haven't already. TCP Optimizer is the easiest, and cablenut is the most tweakable.

But it is highly recommended not to run 2 anti-virus's at the same time. They have been known to cause serious problems. For instance never run Norton and McAfee at the same time, disastrous.
