In all actually I have not been able to get quote to work today. Tried ewido, refresh, cleandisk, Adaware, and just did a total cleanup in networking just this morning. You know when installing a quote into your post.

jkandra I feel for you on the dial up part. I know we all joke about it not being much slower, but in reality I do remember how much slower it was. When I first got on sat I felt like I was riding on a rocket compared to dial-up. And I was on 28kbps. Was not hard telling my wife I was switching over. She took it OK. A week or 2 shouldn't be too bad. And when you get that blazing 3.0, you won't even look back. It will be running so smooth, you will think you died and went to heaven. I tried out a friends it was great, I hated to turn it off. And storms won't even faze you. Enjoy you lucky dog.

On the door lock I was quite serious. I do have one waiting. I would be locking the wife out, the kids know better. The kids have their own comp, the wife would just have one wrecked in a week or less. Mine is always locked and shut down. Even had to take the mouse and hide it a few times, ( I know most people will not be slowed down by this) and it worked. Simply life is starting to look better, I am overcoming some of lifes challenges, and starting to not give a damn so much I guess.

The last post of anykind in 4000 board."July 18, 2006" They have pretty much died off in the 4000 board. The 6000 is not far behind. A few of us keep posting once in a while. Mostly me I guess. Is there somewhere they are still posting those speeds? Just curious. Free would have worked out well, if not for another 15 month contract. Or is that the same thing. If so, I would trade them maybe now that they have the bugs worked out. Never cared that much about U/L much. And remember the 6000 is self hosted also. Still not sure why they would want to drop our 6000's any in speeds. I am a rare execption you said. So I would not affect them much.

In all of that I did not see where you posted your advertised speeds. What the provider said you could expect from it for speeds. As for " I only use about 30-50% of the host. " This only pertains to what an average speed would be of all the packages from your Internet provider. So you cannot ever go by that! Hope this helped.

That is only giving you an average speed of all packages provided by Verizon.
