Not liking to flame with another member, i would like to know if there is anything I could do to true up my speeds and thereby avoid further conflicts. So how do you slow down bursting, not just in test where you just test differently. I would just like to readjust what ever is going on and get true speeds again so I can post with out problems. Would also like to be able to test and know that I am getting what I am getting. :::.. Not to knock the big daddy net in the city,(lucky dogs) but I would like to see it knock sat's into the dirt. We pay as much as city cable and DSL does for fap, 52,000 mile jet lag signals, weather conditions, self equipment charges, ugly things on our roof (stykish actually,HAH),repointing dishes, very inconsistent speeds,etc... I wish they would come to our rural electric company's and talk to them. Any other alternative would be pleasant. Think about it 700Kbps speeds with the crap for $60 per month plus $1000 for equipment. Come to us! Just offer better than that! Like that would be hard to beat!

The problem with me actually helping you is that I am on satellite, and anything related to my internet connection would probably not relate with yours. Not that I don't want to help, but that I am probably not qualified to. So as much as I would like to, I will have to bow out of this one. As for where to get Optimizer settings here someone else will have to provide this as I have not been able to find them myself. Good luck.

You lucky guys in the civilized world. The rest of us do what we can afford to do out in the boonies. There are better types of net but I would have to pay about $300+ to get better service. So direcway is pretty much the only answer for now. And when the city goodies get very close I will probably have to move again because I enjoy living out here.

Starting 8-5-05 I joined and started speed testing and reading. 12-17-05 I wrote my first post, after having tried the TCP Optimizer and tremendously increasing my D/L speeds. And from there I have been tweaking, reading, testing, posting, etc.. Started out around 670, with optimizer went up to about 1000 after about a week of letting settings set in and resetting optimizer, don't know if resetting helped or not, it is just something I did. I have done no registry tweaking. I did end up with 1030 D/L speed consistently for a while, on the 2992 file test. Then one day it just took off, and do not ask me how, I this happened, because I did not do anything myself. But I stated getting impossible speeds about a month ago," Connection is:: 1450 Kbps about 1.4 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB)" is my highest so far. And on a Direcway 6000 that is virtually impossible as far as some are concerned. Satellite by the way.

You know there is only one thing that scares me, have you ever noticed that a light bulb starts to get really bright as it is getting ready to burn out. Hope that has no bearing on this impossible speed. By the way if anybody could explain it I would appreciate it highly. Isn't this impossible? Remember I have done nothing special in the last month, except try different things which I erased for lack of helpfulness. But it just keeps climbing. As far as I can gather he just did as Van Buren does and did some math to create a set of settings for the DWay 6000, which is what he was running at the time, and which no one had come up with yet, For the older model optimizer. It is still is working for me today. As for his other contributions I could not tell you of any. But his setup surely did get me started.

Cool, I just think some computers really do like the optimizer over the cablenuts. Maybe it is made for DirecWay. Who knows. The Rev. was on DWay 6000, wasn't he? Maybe that all figures. So do you have the optimizer with the slide guage like justinlay,or not? If you have the slide guage on the main screen what did you set it to. Should be about the same as the 6000 I would suppose. I was going to try and test that style next.

Compared to your normal speeds lately, I would say you are "SMOKIN" Looks good! What tweaks?

Actually all that comes with the purchase of the computer for 1 year. It helped me a couple of times, before I found testmy.net. For the general public it is not a bad deal, as long as their response is not "just do a restore" or "I guess you will have to do a total recovery,WTF" Otherwise they are ok.

Started testing at midnite figuring net would be pretty much dead. Tried version 5-8, and found that version 7 did the best job. They all did pretty much an equal comparison. Same with TCP and cablenut combo. When I got on next day, my speeds had wigged out. When I got back to TCP Optimizer only things had pretty gone back to normal. Decided to leave it that way. I think that some computers run better with different setups. mine just seems pertial to TCP Optimizer. But thats ok.

Awesome, what is it with the 2992 file. Still think it is the TCP Optimizer. I did try the cablenut, and it really messed mine up. I think that is the best I have done with the 5983 file yet!

Damn FallowEarth, i completely missed that. Yea you might get maybe a 2% increase, at most. Iworked at my comp for 3 months to get what I did. You have pretty much already maxxed out. But if you have time to do some testing and tinkering like I did. It might be a waste of time. I am just never satisfied. 41.48 % of your hosts average (co.uk) That means the provider overall. Not your setup. You could always upgrade to one of their better services! Looks pretty sweet for your setup!
