Try the 2992 speed test. It is more accurate. Like M-16 said!

So what, if anything, is wrong with speed bursts, if they are consistent. Works like it is uncapped. I like it. For a month now! And pages are loading faster.

Did you purchase comp or build? I purchased mine and I would go to comp tech by phone! Number comes in original literature.

Last time I called daytime sales tech said that they will not recomission a 4000 until my contract was up. So I assume NO. Nightime never has any answers except how to try and keep them running. ______________________________________________________________________________ Just called tech support and they said to plug in where 6000 is and see if lights all come on, if so O.K. Works great for me. I did think I would upgrade my video card one time. Bought an ATI Radeon 9250, it drug the pages like it was stoned or something. Never cold get the drivers right. Next time I did a total recovery I just did not install it again. Loads pages quick and clear. I basically wasted about $100 for nothing. Then again I don't play games either, so a lot of people would disagree with me, I am sure. DVD's are clear also. Also add on card did not share memory, but this must have enough power that it did not matter, evidently. Also no driver problems!

Oh goody goody,I hope! DW 4000 just arrived today $5+$10 shipping.Looks to be intact. Does anybody know if there is anyway to be sure,if there is a way to bench test it with out hooking it up online. I have small children, so had to go for CRT. CRT takes more space, gives better picture, they say lasts longer, and costs much less, and becoming old school. LCD does save space. I personally have a 19" Samsung CRT which has worked well. And I don't worry about kids poking it with an ink pen. Oh and heavier. And yes noticable difference between 19' and 17".

How about if you take an old lamp cord etc..., strip both ends.and tie one end to your metal watch band on one end and tie the other end to metal case? Would be flexible and always on. Or just strip off enough to make a bracelet if no metal watchband?

You know, everybody says that we are capped at a 1000. But when I first got it, for the first couple of weeks I did get a 2000kbps.! And I had not done anything at all yet. They just need to loosen up the governor on the carburetor a little! ;)

Didn't understand all of that, but all I have changed on my comp is TCP optimizer. Just have gotten unusually high scores lately.weeks in fact. Everything is running fine. What speed does your contract say that you speeds are supposed to be. Some people are lumped into a group. DirecWay for instance, 3000,4000,6000,7000,Consumer,Pro, all in the same bucket. Some dial-up with DSL. You get the drift!

Opened in 2 seconds on my 800kbps connection. Pretty damn good!

Sort of sad for dual core owners! They spend all that money and antisipate using it only to find out they are now waiting for a new model to come out. Have to love computer growth! Tomorrow's computer was outdated yesterday!! I also agree with Peeps below! Could not find a down arrow.
