  1. The DW7000 can be commissioned on any satellite, however, It needs to be on IA8.
  2. I would recommend installing windows again just so you'll have a fresh system. Install SP2 right after you install XP, or use a slipstream.
  3. delete your IE cache..or the cache of whatever browswer u are using.
  4. If you right click My Computer, go to properties, and click the advanced tab, then click the startup and recovery button. There is a check box that says automatically restart under the system failure options. This should prevent the system from rebooting, and at least let you read the error code. I would re-install Zone Alarm and then uninstall it again. Also, if you use Safe Mode with networking, does it do the same thing? If not, I would recommend you delete your profile and logon again. This will rebuild your profile with default settings and might solve your problem.
  5. There is probably a slower link on that 8 hop DNS. Better to go with the lowest latency.
  6. Its pretty much your router load balancing the connection that it has to work with. You can probably go in the router and setup QoS (quality of service) so that one computer can get a faster connection than the other. If you wanted to do that, that is.

  11. Do you have another computer you can test it on? Just because the NIC is brand new doesnt mean that its not faulty too. Same goes for the cable. If it does it with another computer, it's def either the cable or the modem. There might also be a setting on the modem to turn on full duplex.
  12. Must be somethin up with the cable modem, or do u have it running through a router?
  13. might want to replace the cable with a cat 6. Have you replaced the nic?
  14. call your installer, sounds like you need a re-aim happends all the time
  15. [glow=red,2,300]Basically, a hacker usually breaks in just to see if they can, they do it for personal enjoyment, or for the benefit of the system.
  16. Textbook definitions are as follows: Hacker: A person who uses advanced computer skills to attack computers, but not with a malicious intent. Cracker: A per who violates system security with a malicious intent. (Security+ Guide to Network Security by Mark Ciampa) Basically, a hacker usually breaks in just to see if they can, they do it for personal enjoyment, or for the benefit of the system.
  17. Actually, a lot of DW7000 users are having the same problem as you. It has something to do with either the IA8 satellite or the Las Vegas NOC. Being that it is on a new Satellite, I dont think it has anything to do with it being oversold. However, it might be that a certain transponder is acting up. I heard someone else mention that they called Dway and they were having a problem with the NOC proxy. The problem should be resolved soon I would hope.

  23. You cant just go by the clock rate, especially with different processor brands. The Athlon 64, especially with the 1600 mhz bus has more throughput per clock rate than the P4 3.2. And it runs cooler.
  24. Im on the same switch as our web servers and database servers lol. Gigabit ethernet straight to a gigabit switch..straight to the backbone.
