  1. I have a AMD64 and its pretty damn fast. It opens and runs programs much faster than my Intel PCs. Actually, it does everything faster than my Intel PCs...
  2. I recently got a hard drive mp3 player (Creative Zen Micro). I was wondering if mp3 players can be damaged in anyway while passing through airport x-rays and/or metal detectors. Does anyone know the details about this topic? Thanks
  3. Hah, I know what you mean! Ive had Fios for about 3 weeks now and the speed is so addictive...anything less would be uncivilized!
  4. Yeah, Ive had MSN 7.5 for at least a month or two now.
  5. this is a good deal, but why bother building a pc when nowadays you can get a complete rig with a monitor and printer for $299-$399 anyway?
  6. Well I have FiOS, so I would vote for that if it was on the poll!
  7. I have the Verizon Fios 5 down/2 up plan and consistently (via Cablenut) get 5.2 down and 1.8 up.
  8. Seriously, I never (knocking hard on wood) have a problem with XP. Its fast and oh so stable. Other than the new Vista GUI I see no need to upgrade.
  9. Is Vista really a drastic improvement over XP? I mean XP is close to perfect IMO and other than some new GUI I havent read anything mindblowing about this new OS.
  10. Trust me, ray, once you try FF 1.5, you wont go back to IE.
  11. You got 9 right! Excellent, you have the makings of a proper propeller head. Damn, I wanted the 10!
  12. Im using FF 1.0.7 right now, never have a problem.
  13. Yes, enjoy the marvel of IE7's amazing tabbed browsing, oh shit, hold on, Firefox has had tabbed browsing for 3 years now...nevermind.
  14. I have the Verizon Fios 5/2 plan and pay $29.99 a month (will go up to $34.99) after 12 months. :::.. 15. Nope, its only starting when they release FF 1.5 in a month or two.
  16. IT doesnt matter if my grandmother wrote that, it's a fact based on the specs of both systems. And IGN CONCLUDED: CONCLUSION When you break down the numbers, Xbox 360 has probably more performance than PS3. Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance. Xbox 360 games
  17. FF will eventually overtake IE in terms of users, it may take a while since MS has a stranglehold on PCs, but itll happen. I mean look what IE 7 is offering as new features, tabbed browsing, which FF has had for what, millenia now? Give me a break, they have to copy the good features from Mozilla and then sell them as 'new' features on their craptastic browser. Way to go, MS.
  18. Windows 98 was such a pain in the ass. But they more than made up for it with the stability of 2000/XP.
  19. Not everyone uses a Windows based PC.
  20. Well the hardware was given to IGN by both MS and Sony and IGN did the comparisons, not MS. And the numbers (like total system memory etc.) don't lie.
  21. Im going with the 360 as of now, but after seeing some of the PS3 demos it looks good too. There's no way I'm gonna buy both, so it's gonna be a tough choice. I have an xbox and its been great, to say the least. Ive played PS2 a lot, but the graphics and speed are nowhere near the xbox's. I think the 360 will probably be more easy to use and will clearly be the leader when it comes to online play (like it is now). Plus it will be very easy to add the 360 to your home network if your running XP or Mediacenter 2005. But again, it will be a tough choice between the two. **Update** I just found this article from IGN that did a spec by spec comparison of the PS3 and X360. It may cause those of you leaning towards the PS3 to think twice http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/617/617951p1.html
  22. Gates is a little dorky, but you gotta have respect for him. I may be a Firefox user, but other than that everything else I run is MS.
  23. OK guys, I'm at my school now (Univ. of South Florida). Here is my downloads test: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 3664 Kbps about 3.7 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 447 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Fri Sep 23 2005 13:26:05 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time) Bottom Line:: 65X faster than 56K 1MB download in 2.29 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 547.35 % faster than the average for host (in-addr.arpa) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-I3W2QHMP0 So obviously there's nothing wrong with my wireless card, which I feared there was. But then again, it still doesnt explain why my wireless desktop is getting pretty close to my Fios speed while upstairs on this laptop I only get between 100-400 kbps. ??
  24. Firefox doesnt want to be IE, it just wants to make the crappy IE-only sites THINK its IE. I think of it as outsmarting the competition, you know, smart like a fox?
