I had a 4000....for 2yrs. and 10 months......still have it in fact...sitting on a shelf. I would go back to it tomorrow if they didn't want so damn much money to do it.. In regards to the comments....."I'm very pleased with it. My upload and download speeds seem to be more consistent."This comment (if it's real) was obviously written by by someone comming off an analog phone system with a 33k modem. They have no concept of what speed is. But I'll agree.....the speeds are consistent ly low..... In closing ...remember....some people write fairy tales for a living.......doesn't mean they're real...or that you have to believe them...

OK..so I did this auto cross pole check.....ACP re validate WAS at 77....for as long as I know (couple weeks) The first two times I tried it it never finished....ran 20 min...I closed it......second time ..same thing. So I power cycled the modem...reran the test..took.10 sec. First hit was 78...second was 77...third was 81. I exited the program. Did a restart and the ACP shows 0.....reran the test 83...ok But now anytime I turn the modem off it's 0 again....is this normal??

mospeed ...seems to me that Mydirecway has something on their help site in regards to this....though it didn't help me when I had the problem. I went back in my XP operating system and did a restore from a time before the problem...that fixed it..

OK I'm still trying to get this laptop going.....it was suggested that I download the bios drivers and reinstall them...OK I can do that.....NOT.. I've been reading through the gateway site for over an hour now....think I found the file I need..(235KB)....however...how do I know if these are the latest ones....there's hundreds of them. And some say that they must be run with PII, or PIII processors ....etc..Is there an easier way besides guessing??

OK..knowing what little I do about programming....(sh*t in sh*t out)...and having dealt only in machine language.....It would seem to me that three sub routines are required for attbi.com. 1 to send the users test results or query to the data base. 2 to pull a query of that data base. 3 to pull that data base and do a compare.. But ...maybe not.

Well ..that shows that all the data is there.. If the compare and query code is different it could be a typo??
