Yeah...as long as the memory type is the same your friend will be fine Also, the timings have to be adjusted so that they work on both sets of ram - ....take the more relaxed timings out of two .... also if one ram is faster than the other, the overall speed of the ram will be the one of the slower ram

  6. yes, it is the same machine - it is pretty much like vmware - and im totally amazed by this.... i keep my regular (real) install of win xp clear of any spyware...i defregment it regularly and i have not used any kinds of tweaks on my internet connection....wierdness
  7. i tested on my regular xp install and I was able to do only 750kb/s when the speed stabilized
  8. i am on that virtualpc right now, and i tried downloading a large file It seems as if it is significantly faster than my regular windows install

  10. so okay...today i went and installed windows xp pro on a virtual machine (microsoft virtual pc 2004) - it has no service pack yet, just a base install of windows.... here is an interesting thing....i did some tests, and according to testmy.net, the virtualpc setup actually is faster (bandwidth wise) than my actual setup...about .5mb faster.....wowzers.... and also, every website I have pinged so far, much faster as well....literally twice as fast for the response.... why would this happen ?

  18. i dont know if you know this much....but what you are actually designing is a simple multiplexer.... a multiplexer (mux) is simply a switch that passes either of its inputs through as the output
