  3. http://www.peekvid.com/ I came across this website today.....it streams a huuuuuuuuuuge collection of tv shows / movies and stuff.........it has a loooooooot of content - i just watched harold and kumar go to whitecastle and it was good quality - very good quality for streamed movies....... i give it 5 stars !!!
  4. i used both 64bit and 32bit but .... i stuck with 32bit for now because of the known lack of drivers/support for 64bit hardware ........ ive started using 64bit versions of the o/s since i wanted to take some advantage of my processor but like i said...it has its drawbacks
  5. hahhhahah lol - i dont know..i listened to the entire blog video and let me tell you......i dont know what to say......seriously.....floor manager ? you gotta be kidding me !?
  6. ive always used kde - i dont like the look of gnome that much.....i guess its just a preference
  7. http://www.break.com/index/verizon_wireless_has_trouble_with_math.html this is ridiculous.........no basic math and logic skills ? w t f LOL
  8. I have a problem.....well not me, someone else does........the connestion is from verizon and it is their 3/768 DSL package - I tested the download/upload speed....download speed is right on the dot, and upload is 512...which is not that big of a deal.... so the download/upload is good....but the problem is here: whenever I would open up a webpage it would say: Looking up *google.com* for example and it would be looking up for a while before it opens up a webpage....that bothers me big time...it appears it is a lot slower when download is just fine.........i just finished scanning for all spyware/adware/viruses and did all the dirty work and its all clean...... anyone know where the prob is originating ?
  9. ....like someone said...there is no such thing as the best browser, but there is such thing as best for you and your needs
  10. this is also a decent power supply.....ive used it in several customer's builds and no problems at all: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104954 fsp makes some quality power supplies overall
  11. ***totally off topic, but...someone should add this smiley
  12. another thing........i am totally sorry....but i cannot seem to get over the fact that that power supply is crap....im not trying to be rude, but thats a death trap for your computer
  13. its a micro atx motherboard.....i dont know if your case will take that size...standard motherboard size is just atx
  14. only one star ? .....dude, you are being pwnd lol hehehe
  15. i 2nd both of these posts either go x2 or stick with a 3700+ - its only like 10-15 extra $$$
  16. I dont know if this relates to your problem but I know that some FTP clients when I use them, go wild, openning 10+ connections even though it is not needed - so while you might not be getting 500 actual unique connections, you might be getting a smaller number of people connecting at same time using multiple threads..... hope this helps good site however i signed up ! - i find it very useful
  17. i dont think anyone that isnt local would know
  18. ....you could keep it....but your new ram is gonna have to be ran at that slow speed.....makes the whole thing out of whack....new 1gb kit can be bought for 80 dollars - considering this isnt going to be a high end machine, I would recommend value ram, something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145505 ......but you still need to be careful what you are buying....start thinking from teh beginning......decide on which processor you would like....that will narrow you down to which motherboard type you want, and ram as well...you will most likely need a new power supply as well.....you are pretty much looking for an entire new system - i doubt you will be able to swap some parts you already have - maybe a hard drive or an optical drive....but other parts....you would probably need to start fresh
  19. you can scrap up the ram you already have - ....it wont do any good - its extremely extremely slow - you gotta start all over with ram - get a fresh 1gb
  20. layers of dust cause computers to overheat
  21. wait wait....thats the good ol' amd 2400+ xp ? ....the motherboards in that time did not have pci express and I doubt they made some socket A motherboards with pci express...in that case, that video won't work for your setup edit: if im right that you are running socketA - scrap the entire idea of upgrading video card - i would advise that you bump up the ram to 1GB and when you have $$$ available change out the entire set-up I have a socket A rig as my 2nd computer, similar to yours .... 2400+xp athlon, 2gb ram, ati radeon 9000pro - its decent, but not good enough for vista - even in windows xp it is a little sluggish when multitasking
  22. id do more ram instead the graphix card - both if you have the $$$
