Have they replaced any splitters? Some times the cat5 or cat6 cables go bad causing this problem. All Telecoms like to blame the consumer for the problem but 99% of the time its them. More than likely they have over loaded the node you on and will not tell you that. Good luck!!!

Next time I have enough room to partition, I'll Suse a shot. I'm good with 8.1 on one of my laptops. When Win 10 expires I'll use its partition. Got to keep trying or the mind goes stale. Again thanks for all the help!!

Its not that Linux was not good it was you had to know how to write the script to install most all programs, that became a big negative to me. The programs are out there it just getting them to work right. Got tired of using goggle everything. To hell with all that Linux crap. Tried W 8.1 64bit and had nothing but trouble with sites. Now i using W 8.1 32bit and have no problems. Even tried the W 8.1 64bit twice just to make sure I didn't have a bad install. Thank you all for your help with Linux.

It set up fine in a partition W8 on one and W10 on the other. I skipped the M$ login also but did the same as you. I like it not starting to the start screen and goes right to desktop. I haven't really notice much difference other than a few icons and different locations. So far its smoother than W8 but I haven't loaded a bunch of programs on it yet.. Also like not having the right hand sidebar popping in and out if the get the pointer to close to the side,, \

I just installed Wine and that is making life a lot easier, Just installed utorrent for windows and it was a snap. So I try installing window based programs and see how that goes.

The Mint does run a lot quicker than windows and I do mean a lot quicker. Got it to run with the " sudo mv -v ~/Downloads/jre1.7.0_67/* /opt/java/32" This having to use the terminal all the time is becoming a pain in my back sit here so long trying to make things work. Google has be come my Bitch for information.. I think I will try the openSuse. Dose it matter which one I use? This laptop is: HP Pavilion dv7-1245dx AMD Turion X2 mobile processor RM-72 / 2.1 GHz 4 GB ( 2 x 2 GB ) I do really appreciate your help!
