  1. Okay then...I had a similar problem, actually same type of drivers and software...they don't make that stuff very well....let me see if I can remember wth I did to fix it.
  2. Sorry....I swore of cold weather two years ago......nothing below 70 please....so Alaska is out of the question.
  3. Sir...you are confusing things here. I don't think anyone here has a problem with sharing wifi networks where the owner of the services has willingly and knowingly agreed to participate. In fact...we're all for it....thats a great concept or idea and in some areas including my town of Saint Petersburg, FL that is a reality. BUT...those who have not given their permission should be protected from infringements on their rights as well. Just because the network is open (out of error or otherwise) is not license to hop on have your will with it.
  4. Yer correct <grin>...I should not let personal feelings about this guy's morals or lack thereof get to me like that....I'm sorry. Oh....yer aint a word....d^mnit! All this time I have been talkin like trash and didn't know it.....
  5. It very much is on topic. You are advocating the stealing of somebody elses network access, something they pay a tidy sum of money every month for and without their knowledge or permission. You are stealing a tangeable and measurable asset. You are also infringing on their right to have a safe and secure network and depending on your activities while on THEIR property you may endanger their economic or legal wellbeing. I think that is very much on topic and point.
  6. You are a flaming example of what I posted about earlier....very sad indeed. No wonder you are so pro union....they feel the same way.....always gimme gimme gimme, no matter what the cost to the business or how many other jobs it may have an effect on just so long as it doesn't affect YOU. There is a world out there beyond your little world sir and it would be nice if you ack. the needs, feelings and rights of others beyond your own.
  7. Free only applies when the OWNER or SUBSCRIBER of the service willingly and knowingly gives others the right to share their services, regardless of what they may be. Otherwise it's stealing...no if's and's or but's. Exploiting someones lack of knowledge or a security flaw is not license to do you as you see fit.
  8. oKA Okay...are you able to boot in safe mode (pardon the question if its been asked)....if so...go into safe mode and remove the programs you just installed and then reboot....my hunch is that the phone proggie yer talkin about is using severely misbehaving USB drivers.....but until you respond back its only a hunch... Update: I see you have tried to get into safe mode without success...okay...what version of windows...and lemme do some research on somethin...
  9. You are right about one thing, times are a changin....people are tired of exactly the attitude above and they are taking back their streets, neighborhoods, schools and children and teaching morals again and insisting that others follow along or move out of the way. The me me me generation is done, overwith, caput and good riddence to it. It was responsible for bringing into this world 3 complete generations of lazy, greedy and self obsessed people and to hell with everyone elses feelings or rights. Now I don't like personal flames or attacks but your last post really has me hot under the collar and I'm glad to say I am not your neighbor or we would most definately have issues.
  10. He got very lucky and the DA had more important things to do....not always the case and certainly not the trend. Ultimately, here, the message should be don't do it. It's illegal in most states and it's wrong. Glorifying, bragging about it, or encouraging it is the wrong message. It's wrong, it's illegal and it would really p^ss you off if you were the victim.
  11. Actually no...this man was arrested and proscuted to the fullest extent of the law. I live in St Petersburg, FL. and am very familiar with the case. This man was parked in a neighborhood, in front of a house...just a surfin away.....it had nothing to do with a business whatsoever.... Because of this case and a few recent others prosecutors in other states now have case law to fall back on in proscuting these cases in other states where specific laws do not exist but existing losely worderd computer crime laws do exist.
  12. Actually the basis for the complaint originates from the victim who essentially caught the man and reported it to the police. All told...this means your neighbor who catches you can turn you in and you might (like this dummy) face a third degree felony. Hardly a fine...actually a life changing event that can pretty much end a career and life as you know it. All joking aside, people are getting tired of little hacker babies using the excuse "oh...I was just trying to have a little fun....."
  13. Encrypted or not....do it in Florida and get caught and you will go to jail.... http://www.boinGBoing.net/2005/07/07/florida_man_arrested.html http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Florida_man_charged_with_stealing_WiFi http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8489534/

Thats great for you but the original poster was asking what he should do....and given the circumstances the safe and smart thing for him to do is exactly what he did, file the paypal claim. If the seller is reputable he will ship the goods and that will be the end of it or he will produce a valid tracking number and if not the buyer has protected himself for the most part (as much as you can expect from paypunk anyway).

I mean he's holding on to the powerseller by a thread.....50 neutral 39 negative with 4 in last 30 is outrageous.....someone needs to alert eBay as to what is up with him before alot of ppl get taken. 100 feedback in a month or not...since we can't see whether that is left for him in sales from him or to him that feedback may be totally bogus. Example....his feedback may built on a bunch of token buys (less than a buck) things he's made....we can't tell one way or the other because his feedback is hidden.

Okay....lets do this...would you buy anything from him and if you couldn't get him to respond to his emails and no tracking number, would you wait to see if you were gonna get your money back...given that he just received his 4th neg in last hr

Having been a silver powerseller for years with eBay....when a powerseller hides his feedback that is very bad....disregard the 98.4. Look at his hidden feedback and the fact that he's received 3 negs in 30 days...something is not right. Now also look at his listings....most are way under value and none are the actual picture of the item with many duplicates for same item....all big time alarm bells.

Good show....better safe than sorry and looking at the items he's selling (and the fake photos) along with the prices, bids, feedback, etc....something is not right with this guy.

That's a horrible feedback record for a powerseller and the fact that he's hiding his feedback is bad news. Man...cut your losses and get your money back while you can. The number of feedback means nothing when hes had that many negs and his feedback is private.

Oh dude....his feedback is private...you need to file and get your money back asap or there won't be any to get....

I wouldn't wait....paypunk always seems to find a way to deny claims.....
