  3. Yeah, maybe someone can take a look at my original post and help me out please. It would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Thanks for the info shifter. Anyone else out there with an opinion on this cable?
  5. Hey all, I own the Westinghouse LVM-37W1 which has component hookups and a VGA hookup. I recently found out that with the update from xbox live that the VGA users can watch movies up converted to 720p...something that you can't do with the component HD cable. I was looking into buying a up converting DVD player before I heard this news. But now...here is my question...On the westinghouse HD monitor would the game look better or worse with a VGA HD cable versus a component HD cable. My TV can support up to 1920x1080p...will the VGA cable crank out higher resolutions than my component cable as well? Thanks for all of your help. I hope you all prefer the VGA because I would rather shell out 40 bucks for an up converting DVD player than spending 130-200 bucks.
  6. gallantgrave [10+] is on a distinguished road comcast needs tweaking please I'm on the comcast 8/768 tier that will see an increase in the coming days. I am now scoring between 9.5-12 on speed tests. I'm told that number can and will go up to 16. These are my results with the analyzer. Thanks for your recommendations. I also prefer cablenut, so if anyone could transfer this info and the result of the test into a .ccs file it would be greatly appreciated.TCP options string = 020405b4 MTU = 1500 MTU is fully optimized for broadband. 7. I hope that after he was hit with 1,000 pounds of explosives he was sent to the most shitty corner of hell. "Where are all those virgins I was promised?" is what he'll be thinking.
  8. I have the 8 Meg plan through Comcast. Even when there is network congestion now the lowest I dip to is 6.5 Mbps. Do you guys think when powerboost kicks in that the speed fluctuation will be equivalent to what it is now on my node? In other words...Do you guys think that once it kicks in will my lowest speed be 14.5 Mbps when there is lots of congestion? I'm guessing what all this powerboost bs means is that we aren't promised the speed but we'll most likely have higher numbers than our standard packages of 6 and 8 Megs.
  9. Looks like JKAT already has it. It's rolling out here in Pittsburgh on the 20th automatically...I'm glad because I hate calling the tech support anyway. We'll just have to get posts here of people who download large files and tell us how stable the speed is and if the speed is consistent throughout the whole length of the download. The question is...will it help me connect faster to xboxlive and hosts on live. God forbid comcast give us some upload love for our multiplayer games.
  10. This news is straight from comcast.com. Comcast
  11. If any of you play ghost recon advanced warfighter...post your gamertag so we can play sometime. I've just been playing it so much more than before because it's raw as shit. My friends and I are looking to have good times fragging folks.
  12. Thankyou good sir. Hope that I can afford a ps3 to play on this screen.
  13. I never had an HDTV before. The wife got me one for the superbowl as a surprise. It's the Westinghouse LVM-37W1. Take a look and tell me if you guys think we picked well. I did some research before the purchase and it led me to this thing and it's raw as S#!t on the xbox 360. 14. Thanks guys for always being helpful. And I love the new look but I had to set the theme to old school blue. Thanks for the cute kid comment as well.
  15. What's going on guys...I haven't been to these forums to say hi since they linked the chatroom with the site. It's been a long time and I just wanted to say hello. I've had a kid since I've been here last and he turned 1 on 3/29. I'm glad to be back and begging for more help with my pc and tweaking my connection speed lol.
  16. I am very disappointed...if the Steelers had lost I would've tipped my hat to the Seahawks. But the truth is that the Steelers won and not the Hawks. So Seahawk fans should get over it and stop complaining. The Seahawks aren't saying they lost because of bad calls from refs...so the Seahawk fans should respect their team enough to drop it. It makes them look really stupid. Lets not forget the pair of fieldgoals the Hawks tried to kick and couldn't make...they could've punted because it was out of their kicker's range. I know the truth is that gadget play the Steelers did pissed off Seahawk fans but the truth is...they had time to study our last few weeks of play and if they didn't see that coming...it's their own fault. Every game has some bad calls...but the Seahawks made too many costly mistakes and now the sore losers aren't the Seahawks...but the Seahawk fans.
  17. Hell of a game but congrats to the Pittsburgh Steelers my home team on their superbowl victory! I will tell any Seahawks fan that the Seahawks were our toughest team to beat all year and if anyone could've beat us it would've been them.
  18. After all was said and done. I am more than satisfied with the TV I got. But let me know what you guys think. I got the Westinghouse LVM-37W1. It is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for all of your help!
  19. Good deal, now it comes down to these two televisions...What is the better pick overall? The Philips 51" HDTV (51PP9100D) or the Samsung 30" TXR3079WH? I know one is huge and one is small. But my hopes are that the Philips is a decent tv for a good deal and not a piece of crap. If the Philips turns out to be crap I would then go to the Samsung if it were good because of the price range. I just wanted to know if I can have my 360 hooked up to the Philips with the HD component cables at the same time as the component cables are hooked up for HD viewing of television broadcasts. Basically, I want the Philips only if the resolutions are native HD resolutions. Please help me for the love of God I'm an HD newb!!!
  20. Thanks for the heads up on the RCA. But how bout that 51 inch philips? What is the Philips HDTV native resolution? Is it 1280x720 or higher? Do you think the Philips is a good buy and lastly does it have component inputs for my 360? Like I said I am a complete HDTV newbie. So, thanks for your help. By the way...how do I get HD resolutions with cable programming? Do I need to buy a component cable for that as well? And will the Philips have the inputs so that I can watch regular TV in HD as well as my games? Thanks again!
  21. Yes, I did want a smaller HDTV but...I would consider buying one of the bigger TV's since they're pretty cheap only if they were quality TV's.
  22. Yes, your right I have comcast. So, what do you suggest in that price range? Here are some models I'm interested in. Give me your opinion...even if you think they're all crap(lol). Philips 51" HDTV (51PP9100D),Philips 60" Projection HDTV (60PP9100D),RCA 52" Widescreen HD-Ready Rear-Projection Monitor with DVI-HDCP Input - Black/Silver Model: D52W23 , and Samsung 30" SlimFit
  23. I finally have the chance to buy an HDTV but I'm a newb in this area. Just was wondering if you guys could help me in my research. I would prefer a 32-34 inch HDTV. I would like your opinion on which are the top brands. I don't really care that it's cable card ready but it has to have a built in tuner. I'm looking to spend at the most 1,000-1,100. I want a reliable well rounded TV. If any of you have any comments or suggestions please post. Thanks all.
  24. Here we go Steelers here we go!!!! We're sending the bus home with a ring after one more bus ride!!!! I'm telling you Shaun Alexander will not be a factor against the Steel Curtain's defense. It will be a great game and though because Pittsburgh is #1. :booty:
