  4. speaking of my next rig i was bored so hopfully my next one will be along the lines of this https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=15388092
  5. frio looks awesome although i think i'd still go with the H50 for the price
  6. yeah some stock coolers do fine but i knew off the bat stock wouldn't suffice going near the 4GHz mark which is what i had in mind for this system all along i could probably go higher if i had a cooler like the H50 but i don't, maybe my next build will include that
  7. the case is the coolermaster CM690 it's sort of a budget case but with great cable management and the CPU cooler is the sycthe katana 3 the cpu cooler was funny it didn't come with english instructions everything was in japanese good thing its not hard to install them this system is definately not starved for air though those are 120mm fans running 4 intake and 3 exhaust. the case can hold 140mm fans but they were a lot more expensive >.< gotta save the pennies where you can i guess to splurge on things like ram cpu MB and video card
  8. here are a few pictures i took with my camera on my phone so bare with me lol also the one of my video card isn't very good it barely shows it i apologize! i'm just to lazy to take another picture
  9. nice there ebrown! i'll post some pics later of my rig ^^
  10. i recently moved to phoenix there cable and i have the same package its a NICE upgrade from my 8/1 DSL i had before
  11. wouldn't it be easiest to just use samba?
  12. that one was better! tested with 200MB still over my wifi, i could probably get my full 50 down if i wasn't using N / G mode on my router for my various wifi devices :::.. 14. TBH DDR2 is a dying way however Phenom II's have a DDR2 and DDR3 memory controller built in so it should work fine heres asus's product sheet http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=0KyowHKUFAQqH2DO luckily it supports 125w MAX so you can jump to a phenom II quad providing you have a good enough power supply
  15. honestly i like cool n quiet i run it on my current system my core voltages have to be upped for this OC i'm running so that adds a lot of extra heat when cool n quiet kicks in the voltage is decreased aswell as cpu clock so it keeps the pc nice and cool when i'm not gaming also the board i used for my athlon OC was http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131618 its the the 770 chipset the board i'm running now is the 785 which had huge improvements as far as the OC ability. did you end up going athlon or go with phenom?
  16. something someone partially noted is i don't believe athlons can be unlocked period from what i've read only x2 and x3 Phenoms can be unlocked if your lucky btw i used to have that chip infact i still own it it's just not in use i had it in an ASUS MB but it overclocked like a champ i had it at 3.5GHZ stable on air with value ram >.> it didn't like going much past that even though the temps stayed low upping the voltage didn't seem to help either also i'm not really sure the differences off the top of my head but i run the 9800GTX+ and play all the games you listed on the highest setting at 1920x1200
  17. if you have a windows xp cd you could just boot up off the CD and run the recovery console instead of installing windows then choose the windows installation probably C enter the username/pw if there is one and type FIXMBR FYI to boot off a cd you must go into the bios and set the default boot device to be your cdrom
