  1. a tracert shows what "road" you choose to travel on to reach a specific server. It display the latency (ping) to each router in the path, the router acts like crossroads. sometimes a router can be overloaded with traffic, then you will see the ping goes sky high, but you cant be 100% sure, cos sometimes routers deprior ICMP packets (packets used to measuse ping). I bet you can find a better explaination at google VanBuren
  2. With a nice route you could get up to 4 Mbps, but normal around 1-2 Mbps the number of hops killing the speed I drop down to around 6 Mbps against NY, eve if my record is over 9 Mbps lol VanBuren

  15. I think your right, its probl modem slowing you down. either you got the upgrade or you havent, no middle stages. but since you have increase upstream i think you got it delivered. VanBuren
  16. I think there is a setting for that in BIOS, you should be able to run faster RAM then your FSB. VanBuren

  20. 1+2+3.) Cos ping plotters like these are Very Inaccurate when it comes to location of a certain router. I have seen routers located in sweden, but on a ping plotter it shows its located in US... VanBuren
