download and install cablenut https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=64 open it, in top left corner click file, save custom settings file, name it backup and save it now close cablenut dubbleclick on one of the files i posted in my previous post, click save to registry and reboot your PC test speed again you need to choose, do not mix diffrent tweaks, if you want to use Dr.Tcp i suggest a RWIN of 63888 if your using a router, and 63360 if your not using a router on win XP VanBuren

Can you increase my download speeds Van Buren ???
VanBuren replied to hanifv's topic in Make it Faster...
leave the default recieve window blank, thats a AFD parameter and will do more harm then good, on your low bandwidth if your behind a proxy server, the analyzer will not read your PC -
check this https://testmy.net/s_engine.php?type=user_name&q=vice&affch=1 the variation in speed is probl due to small testfile for 100 Mbps connections a good tumbrule is a file thats test your speed for around 8 seconds that would be a filesize for 100 Mbps 100 / 8,192 = 12,20703125 MB/s 12,20703125 x 8 seconds = 97,65625 MB VanBuren

hey sac-o-beef and welcome to the forum all you need to do to get windows default settings is open cablenut, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry and reboot try that and also bypass your router and connect direct to modem via ethernet, powercycle modem, leave it off for 30 full seconds test speed again also make a linequality test here http://www.dslreports.com/tools disable firewall during test VanBuren -
that must be a cached result, your too fast j/k :haha: VanBuren

hey tyson22 i dont think you will go much faster then this, atleast not downstream but you can try these files, just backup your current settings so you can restore them if these files dosent go faster VanBuren

no problem, keep visiting and tell your friends about this site VanBuren

yea, you can try finetuning the settings to go faster as most ppl understand the settings i made is a estimate, its impossible to make perfect files for each ISP and caps. also some routers cant handle large RWIN
