  10. i havent noticed any gain/loss in performance compared to Norton, but the AV scan seems to be faster then Norton. Im back on my old rig, so every gain in perfornance means much these days... i think your right Swimmer, it using some type of proxy, i just neeed to find out if its possible to disable this Blunted do you know how to disable this? Did you have to uninstall it to get real scores? VanBuren
  11. i thought i would give it a try since many ppl are very happy with it so i bought it a few weeks ago, but having problems with it the problems is only with speedtesting, flat download seems to work good testing speed against Testmy.net, used to be around 30 Mbps down, now its very inconsistent. Between 3 to 7 Mbps. I see it starts download the testfile in network graph, at 3 MB/s, then it stops and browser starts to load the file. Its like the antivirus program has to scan it before it loads in my browser. Also, testing speed against speedtest.net servers it give me cached results, same goes for speakeasy test. I haven't dig very deep into the issues yet, but i was thinking if someone here has the same product and same problems and hopefully a solution VanBuren
  12. try this file Sparticus013 VanBuren

  14. you can read more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmission_Control_Protocol but a easy explanation is, you have a modem and your ISP cap it to a certain rate, that means a raw data rate. TCP protocol using a overhead thats useless when it comes to speed, but its a reliable protocol cos the receiver send acknowledge packets to the sender, and if a packet is lost the sender tries to retransmit the packet. With UDP protocol you will get the same speed as your modem limits you to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Datagram_Protocol VanBuren
  15. hey Noobz your score is fine, wont go faster then this you need to add a TCP overhead ( 7 to 10% )on your score and then your faster then advertised 1,07 x 505 = 540,35 Kbps TRuSPEED downstream 1,07 x 212 = 226,84 Kbps TRuSPEED upstream I would leave it like that, since your far away from testmy.net server if you do want to make something about that upload, try increasing DefaultSendWindow in cablenut, set it to 32120 VanBuren
