  1. man thats scary dlewis, 2 hours... yea those emails is funny I dont know what happend after the swedish police took their servers, i know the site is up again, but i dont think they even had to go to a trial, case closed, they most likely couldnt find anything... i heard on the news a few weeks ago, that some fool in our gov suggested to approve our gov to scan ALL incoming and outgoing traffic from sweden. That means they can read emails sent via hotmail, since server is in the US... I really hope that dosent happen, no one wants a big brother gov... VanBuren

  8. welcome to the forum DataMaster
  9. welcome to the forum razors_edge_ 2874/3008 = 0,95 * 100 = 95% of your advertised speed thats very good, be happy the diff 5% is your TCP overhead, nothing you can do about that VanBuren
  10. hey sh1ntaro and welcome to the forum you should test against some AU mirrors aswell http://www.testmy.net/o-mirror-ShaneAu2 http://www.testmy.net/o-mirror-ria-tech the settings dosent seems right for your bandwidth even tho you score good on a speedtest. You most likely have a burst and trick the speedtest. Test with a larger testfile aswell http://www.testmy.net/dl-1496 here is some settings you could try aswell VanBuren
  11. Dern, did you use a formula to get that answer or what???? VanBuren
  12. i was goin to say 01/16/07 but tdawnaz already guessed that, so i say 01/15/07 VanBuren
  13. very nice system DJ, dern development moves fast i remember 1 year ago, this http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=307388 was a good score hehe I can imagine how fast that system is, almost twice as much 3dmark points compared to my dell.... now im back on my old AMD 1700+ with a fx 5900 Ultra and 512MB of RAM, but thats another story VanBuren
  14. your MTU is off, its 1472 and should be 1492 also you have a very large RWIN, try this open cablenut, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry + reboot your pc read the modem/router manual, you should use PPPoE as connection type also try this traceroute tool http://s2.testmy.net/tools/toolbox.php VanBuren
  15. hey sysco174 run this analyzer, copy the info and past it here https://www.speedguide.net:8080/ also make a traceroute start-run-cmd type tracert testmy.net and hit enter now rightclick choose all and hit enter, paste the info here VanBuren
  16. thank you fred I wish you and all of our members a happy new year VanBuren
  17. also check this site http://www.psc.edu/networking/projects/tcptune/#Linux VanBuren
  18. thats great, then you dont have to bother about the NDT suggestions VanBuren
  19. This topic has been moved to Make it Faster.... [iurl]http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=17721.0[/iurl]
  20. hey ratchet those NDT suggestions is not always accurate. It measure your latency, MSS, RWIN and from that calculate how much speed you can get. MSS and RWIN is accurate, but the latencytest is very hard to get accurate during a upload/download. you could try increasing RWIN, but "The network based flow control limits the throughput to 4.61 Mbps" What is your ISP advertised speed? VanBuren
  21. try the file i posted on laptop aswell, your current RWIN is large, and it has a side effect on loosing speed when you get packetloss. Over wireless its not uncommon to loose packets. if that dosent help, see what speed you get with windows default settings, just open cablenut and click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry and reboot. VanBuren
  22. trace seems fine, that makes me suspect there is some problem with modem. What modem do you have? Also did you use to get around 8 Mbps before? VanBuren
