    If you are serious about printing and scanning go with an EPSON. 4180 PHOTO goes for $200 (but it will handle everything)... If you dont need supre high resolution then any EPSON will do...the 2480 for example...

    I would remove IE from Add/Remove Windows Components (even thought it will still keep the IE code intact and fully functional) it will remove the icons cleanly. Then set Fire-fox to your default browser (simple and clean). I personally use IE for trusted sites and FIREFOX for un-trusted sites.
