IMHO, if you want 4 more years of GWB then vote for McCain because he is a GWB clone. If he wins this country will be in a Depression instead of the Recession we are headed for now. GW. keeps saying we are going through a rough time right now but, the economy is in good shape. Bull$#*%? !!!!. All we have left is a service economy and hardly any Manufacturing jobs. All the jobs he tells you that have been created are low paying service jobs. Tommie: That deal you posted sounds like some e-mails that some Rep. friends of mine send me every year at election time and believe me they don't let facts get in their way when they try to get their candidates elected. They get red faced when I refute their fabricated facts.

You guys with the loud systems are gonna be like my 30 year old friend across the street from me. He tooled around in a small cab pickup for years with his cranked up and now when I talk to him if he is over 10ft from me I have to yell at him so he can hear me. He will be wearing hearing aids in a few years. I have a 64X2 - 4600 with 2Gigs and I am happy with it.

I am by no means an expert, but when I have this problem I call my ISP and it has always been their problem. However I would suggest restarting your PC and resetting your modem. Hope this helps and welcome to the forum.

Shug: I like testmy.net the best, but I can no longer test here since around the 1st week in Feb. I could test for about a week while being shown google ads, then the google ads disappeared and so did my ability to test. I have made several posts about this in general discussion, help forum and the make it better forum. I also sent a message to CA8LE and he replied with a question and I referred him to all my posts and I have had no reply from him in several weeks. If you would read my posts about this problem and assist me I would appreciate it. I have tried testing every way I can think of with no luck. I now use PC Pitstop and Speedtest.net, but their results are wildly different.

Believe me Coknuck if I could I would fix it. My problem started when I suddenly was being shown google ads for a few days and just suddenly they went away. That is when I couldn't go further than the 2992 test and I never get a results page. I think something went haywire with that google ad deal. I can turn everything off and it makes no difference at all. I test OK elsewhere.

Thanks mogramjo. I just wish this were fixed here as I have no problem checking speed elswhere. I have been a member here for a couple of years now and have never had this much of a problem before.

It would be nice if the person that fixed the speed test on Jan. 24, 2007 would fix the test again. I have been having the same ole problem since the first week in March. I PM"d CA3LE and he replied and I replied, but nothing has been done nor an answer. I don't understand what is going on with this deal. :shocked: :sad:

JH2688: Looks like you have caught a bug, malware from your p2p programs. Also you are likely to someday get your heinie in trouble downloading songs unless you happen to be paying for them. Just some friendly advice. NOMB actually. :shocked:

I test from the 2992 on the page that pops up when you select the download test at top of site page. I hope some one can help as I am about to go bonkers. Thanks.

I have used Pop-up Stopper Free Edition for years and it has worked great for me. Get it at www.panicware.com. I use CounterSpy v2 for spy-adware along with Spybot. They keep the junk off my PC.

Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please go to help with tests forum and read my post of March 17, 2007. This post still applies today. I did not get any help at all from this post. I hate to say it, but I have had to resort to other sites to test. I WANT TO TEST HERE AT MY HOME.!!!!!!!!!! I am less than 50mi. from Big D server.

For the past 10 - 15 days I have tested on 2992 and it runs to 100% OK, but that is as far as it goes. It never goes to the next test page as it normally does and I never get a results page. I had this problem before around first week of Feb. and it cleared up. I have tried turning off my firewall and other stuff to no avail. I can test OK at PC pitstop and Speedtest.net, but I WANT TO TEST HERE AT MY NORMAL SITE!!!!!!!! I use Kaspersky Int. Sec. 6, Counterspy V2, PreEmpt by PIVX, and WinPatrol. No MS crap except IE 6. I have always tested OK with this same stuff.

Tommie: Go to snopes.com and type in their search page the words Washington gold coin and you can read the truth about it. By error some coins were made without some inscriptions on them. The old one quit on me so I am shipping it back to Sys Tech in Calif. to be repaired under extended warranty. It was only 18mos. old. I will; probably keep it for a backup unless one of my Kids talk me out of it. :haha: granpa: I have no problem with my mind staying with my 2 finger typing.
