They may have capped you for a little while.. They maybe proforming network maintaince and move a bunch of people over for a little while.. I know it sucks but can you really tell the difference betweek 3 and 5? I am sure that the downloads are a little slower but other than that...

that is fairly good!! As far as the hosting goes.. You can do it only if your ISP doesnt have terms against it.. Like RTB said.. Most of them do because in the old days everyone was buying a connection and then placing a server on a dedicated line.. by doing this the networks came to a screaming hault... Which is why they put stuff into their terms.. As far as hosting a website on a satelite connection I would not recommend doing this.. the pings are high and that means if you have more than maybe 5 or so users at the same time they are going to suffer... It also depends on the type of site that you are trying to host.. Remember that in hosting Upload is key!

That should be what you are looking for.. It should be able to get the admin password.. the cat 5 thing should work if you have a cat5 and usb equiped modem.. If you have usb then you have cat5 also.. unless you have some wierd modem.. Other than that you should be set..

wow 80 euros for that.. that is still insane.. what that comes down to 8-10 euros per mb... you are paying who knows how much for yours.. that is cheap in one way but also really expensive..

Holy cow... have you cleaned your computer lately?? or are you really that slow?

I like the idea of taking the score to the IT department and telling them to setup it up.. the problems is going to be the $$ more speed is going to cost $1000's per month... Plus they might have to upgrade their system to remove some bottlenecks.. where money was low so they cut corners....

you can also hack the admin/ user accounts from the command prompt in windows XP.. and you still get all of the data.. it is a known problem but microsoft hasnt patched yet... saw it on techtv

hmm.. that is really weird.. those should have fixed the problem.. are you sure that you connections are tight and that the cables are not dead?

the cox problem could be resolved by using the cat5 connection instead of using the usb.. quicktimes is a pain in the ass... It is serviced by mac.. just keep trying.. try installing it to a different folder...

yeah this site does grow stronger every day... I remember when I first joined there we like a maybe 30 people testing at a time.. now it is atleast in the high 80 if not higher every time i visit...

maybe you should through out some networking terms.. that should get him confused.. I have to print a college text book cause my teacher is to lazy to give a prerelease version of it.. The people in the computer labs hate me.. the damn thing is like 50-80 pages each time... Damn I love college...

thats the one.. it is a nice little utility.. you are going to need a router or dual nic setup for it to work.. I would suggest placing your computer in the DMZ when you connect.. otherwise your connection might get canned..
