  1. that is a good amount of space...
  2. Please leave you message after the beep. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP... :
  3. very nice connections guys..
  4. yeah that is fairly normal... you are now competing with 6800's and the x800. so those are the base line pretty much... Not bad... I might benchmark mine tonight if i have time... 9600 pro mobility flavor..
  5. again.. if you are complaining about lag it is because you are trying to play games hosted in the US.. which means that you are having to travel accross the pond.. I didnt realize that you are from England.. so those scores are not all that bad..
  6. part of this might be the fact that CA3LE's ISP is for the server is doing some work on the routers... try again later.. those are kind of high..
  7. and you gaining his loss?? I would say this is an ad...
  8. Fun.. so it should be even more accurate now?
  9. well then tweak the hell out of it.. see how fast you can get it!! i be there is a cap around the 10mb barrier
  10. I had it 2 56k modems working for awhile until the phone bill was really expensive.. It was a local ISP so they supported it.. AOL doesnt nor do most of the larger ones.. they enjoy having you by the balls.
  11. ok cool...
  12. packet loss should be 0...that would be the best...
  13. Speed = Distance/time... that is all that I can say.. the farther the distance the more time it is going to take... My guess is that eventually they will replace the current trans atlantic system with a fiber optic system that will make it seem like you are in the US.. But once you are on shore here you get to enjoy all of the busy routers to CA3LE's site.. Not to mention if his ISP is having routing problems then your tests are going to take an even bigger hit..
  14. You can thank Alltell! they decided to upgrade from 128 to 384 upload.. the entire system should be online by November 15th.. Enjoy! This became offical the 26th of September... Of course we knew it first
  15. that is entirely possible!! most of the time you are going to be downloading from the net.. If you are sharing your connection with the entire dorm that seems fairly normal for it to take some what of a hit... However, try the program and see what happens... the upload indicates that it should be atleast be equal to the upload most of the time...
  16. I did find that adjusting the rwin value helped alot!! I was on cable internet 4200/256 then came here to Purdue and I was in the low 3's for download. I ran the program Van Buren recommended to you and now I am 12000/2300 i think... i dont remember.. I am on wireless right now so that will not give me a good test but when i get back to the dorm i will post speeds... Run the program and that should help... For the most part the IT staff at college has been excellent!!! Hell of a lot better than my ISP at home, Comast. I was being attacked by some trojan by some dude who had a dirty computer... They took care of that problem really quick.. ofcourse I provided them with the IP address of the computer.. By the way welcome to the forum!! keep posting and you will learn more about the internet/computers than you ever wanted to know.
  17. i dont know if it is going to work... are you going to need to have to accounts on the cable coming into the house?
  18. it is like having dual processors then...
  19. that sucks the big one... No broadband in the area... not even DSL?
  20. lol thanks RTB!!
  21. You should be able to run a dual nic setup.. Then just bridge those.. the real question is "can it be done"? I dont know coax cable only has some much frequency that it can operate at... Running 2 accounts on 1 cable line might not work.. However, i have no idea if it is possible...
  22. i bet you could increase that! That is kinda low for a broadband connection.. now if you are on Directway then you are awesome! Read Van Buren's guide to tweaking!
  23. you could do this.. i guess... You could connect them via ethernet or usb... then bridge the connection.. i dont know what this would do but what ever...
  24. so do you want me to inform my uncle in the FBI? we do have your IP address you know that right...?!? Keep that shit to yourself! I am not interested... and most of the people here are also not...
  25. lol right... I am currently on an enternet based system at Purdue.. it is hard to tell what type of speed they have as their main connection.. I am about 15mb down and 1.5-3.0 up.. T3 maybe... At home I have Comcast 4200/256..
