When i say gaming machine.. i mean.. Athlon 64 3800+, 1 gig of ddr 400 ram, Nvidia 6800 ultra/ATI x800, 7.1 sound and speakers... I will agree you can build a computer for less than 800 that will run doom 3... but you will not truly experience the game... You resolution and quality will have to be set to low.. But do what you want...

lol yah more like 90%

I would agree with him.. if you have a desktop that suits your need then pick up a laptop... if you dont then upgrade. but dont try and build one for 900. There is just no way that you can get everything that you need for 900 to have a high end gaming pc... if that is what you want to do.

Like luwigie said it depends on the intended function of the router... a gigabyte router is going to be more than a 10/100. You can also get fiber routers and other stuff... if you want to see some really expensive stuff hop onto cisco's site and take a look.. those cost in the 10's of thousands of dollars...

looks like it is serviced by roadrunner..

that is what I thought.... Snacky you might want to check into how to edit your boot log... you are going to want to make a copy of this!! Make sure that you know which one does which.. You should be able to find out how to do this by searching it on yahoo.. or your favorite search engine..
-
so it is running a dual boot then.. one with the original boot screen and one with the new improved one?
-
that has been drinking nuclear waste..

Up to for directway users means when the planets align and the satelite crashes and is sitting in your front yard.. then you might get your up to speeds..

not the most secure program in the world.. but that is cool.. I am suprised that you are not using anywhere by Symantec.. that seem to be a more logical approach for business.. I am almost positive most companies wouldnt run that stuff on any computer.. no matter what.. doesnt windows remote desktop do everything that vnc does? plus it is more secure i believe, have to check my sources... windows security changes every second.. If it is a school wouldnt you be worried that some kid who has to much time in his basement access the teacher's computer from an internal lab and messes with the grade book.. I know that it is password protected.. but there are ways around that.. Or even make it so that it isnt readable... I know a few teacher at my former high school who did their stuff on excel.. Not password protected.. Just seems easy to access stuff around there..

Microsoft software caused air traffic shutdown September 20 2004 by Rupert Goodwins Someone forgot to reboot... A bug in a Microsoft system compounded by human error was ultimately responsible for a three-hour radio breakdown that left hundreds of aircraft aloft without guidance on Tuesday, according to a report in the LA Times. Nearly all of Southern California's airports were shut down and five incidents where aircraft broke separation guidelines were reported. In one case, a pilot had to take evasive action. The newspaper said that a Microsoft-based replacement for an older Unix system needed to be reset every thirty days 'to prevent data overload', as a result of problems found when the system was first rolled out. However, a technician failed to perform the reset at the right time and an internal clock within the system subsequently shut it down. A back-up system also failed. Richard Riggs, an advisor to the technicians union, said the FAA - the American aviation regulator - had been planning to fix the program for some time. "They should have done it before they fielded the system," he said. To prevent a reoccurrence of the problem before the software glitch is fixed, Laura Brown, an FAA spokeswoman, said the agency plans to install a system that would issue a warning well before shutdown. Microsoft UK was not immediately available for comment. Source: Silicon

This can be once of the hardest decisions you will make! I went through this just before I left to school and I was set on an HP but then thought about IBM then Toshiba, and finally i got a dell... I would say away from Gateway/Emachine... The quality has gone down hill since the merger and I have only heard of problems with those systems.. That doesnt mean that you will not enjoy one... I personally looked at the HP 5000z & 7000 series, IBM T-42, Toshiba Terca M2, Dell 8600 & 600m... I was in love with each one but when it came down to it I found that the Dell 8600 was the best fit for me... It has a 15.4 inch WSXGA+ screen, 1.8 Dothlan, ATI 9600 Pro graphics, 60gig 7200rpm hard drive, wi-fi, dvd/cd-rw, and I get about 4.5-5 hours per charge.. That is doing something fairly basic.. not playing games.. there is no laptop out there that can play games and last for over maybe 2 hours.. The only down side is it is about 7.5 lbs fully loaded and is a little big... The main selling point was the Centrino platform!! No other platform for the notebook is better in my opinion.. AMD doent have the battery life or the proformance.. my 1.8 ranks around a 2.8-3.0 Intel P4.. The best idea is to go around to the local retailers play around and find what you like... I found that most of the wide screens at the retailers were limited to 1200x960.. that just want good enough for me.. I am currently running 1650x1080 native.... Also plan to spend some money in a good pair of speakers.. no matter what brand you buy, hp is the exception, have really crappy speakers.. notebookforum.com is a great place to start.. Looking at your specs.. I would say that the hp is your best bet! it is centrino based which is going to get you more battery life in the long run.. Also if you are going to be buying it through your school see if your school has a manufacture deal.. I know that Purdue give 15% off on top of current offers.. so I got a $2700 for about $1950 that came with 4 years of on site tech support and their protection program.. Just surf..

it might be to prevent someone from accessing the network illegaly and then hosting a server farm on them.. with the cap set to 1mb you couldnt do much...
-
o just go out and get a linksys or dlink router... then throw the other one out the window.... the linksys box will work.. even a windows box will work!

lol so now we have a list of people who you want to steal bandwidth from? that is great! we should have a donate bandwidth to RTB drive..
-
it is a useful firewall program that if used correctly can provide really good security.. However, it does tend to lower bandwidth... if you are interested here you go..http://www.smoothwall.org/
