ok.. you should be able to do this... What brand router do you have?? have you placed the server in the DMZ? That should take care of it right away.. Also please tell me that you are running a software firewall and virus protection on that server... otherwise you are just asking for trouble when it comes to your network.. What you are trying to do is fairly common and yes does work.. however, you have to have that machine on all of the time and if you get hit with a virus you are directly sending it to the rest of your network.. Because that would be a trusted zone...

that is where the tracerts come into play... Their is nothing that they can do about a tracert to comcast.net.. it is basically a local network at that point.. so you are not going out on to the "big" network.. CA3LE's site isnt 100% accurate... But it is the best out there.. It really depends on the routers and the network load itself on your end.. If the cable is "flucuant" you might want to replace the cable that the modem is on.. or move it to the main cable once it comes into the house.. see if that works... RUN A TRACERT and then post the results.. we might be able to get you some help...

ASP is a microsoft product.. it is based on frontpage if i am not mistaken... Apache should serve .asp if you have the .net framework on the server

Ok here is the deal with Comcast... NJ has been a problem since they took over.. Chicago was bad for a period until they got all their new equipment up and running.. I am not sure what the Tech will be able to do.. he might install a booster.. but that will not help with the ping speeds.. only lost packets... If that happens it means that you have a hell of a lot of people on your node.. My suggestion would be to have a few ping and tracerts to comcast.net to show him... Also make sure that your computer is clean.. He might not have a computer with him... All of my techs used my computer.. They were subcontractors.. but either way... And remember THEY CAN NOT DO MUCH!! they are just there to find out what the problem is.. so if they dont fix it dont flip out on them...

very nice!! Cox does seem to offer a kick ass product... A lot of people here on the forum are really happy with service/speed.. I wish they had it up here..

Has it ever worked?? there is a new firmware out there... 1.40.. the only other one that I can see is 1.39.. is 1.38 the shipping firmware?

firmware difference?? have you power cycled the damn thing in a while?? turned it off and then turned it back on about 2min later?? that some times does help to speed things up...

damn that is cool!! I hope that the United States follows... I think that we are still shocked by the 4mb cable speeds... I dont know it would cost a lot to do something like that..

setup looks nice!! you might want to check and see if there is a new driver for that lan card... that might get you a little more speed.. Also check out VanBuren's tweak guide..
