This will not happen for at LEAST 8-10 years. Of course that is my opinion but you can quote me on it if it comes sooner. Americans like tangible things. Its a Microsoft dream, but it aint happening soon. And yea D you are right, but 720p is not true HD as you know 1080p is (may not be a big deal but in 3 years ALL the new tvs will be 1080p and that is what people will want). Everybody wants the extras or the special bonus dvd's wouldnt sell so well. So if you take a good HD movie in true hd 1080p with extras, 7.1 sound etc.. which people WILL want if they are paying for the movie and not ripping it from a torrent site, your not gonna get a file that is 4 gigs probably at least 20 gig. Buying movies on Flash would be great but you are gonna have to convince people to buy a NEW high def player for the flash unless you only want to be able to watch it on our comp. You will have to show them significant advantages for the consumer and I dont think they are there.

Maybe 10 years, not a couple. A high def movie compressed with no extras can hit 20 gigs easy. Who the hell is gonna download that, not many people. Maybe flash drives but I fail to see the advantage really.

They are already releasing titles on Blu Ray, Vivid is putting them out. Truthfully I gotta try one out, but it will probably be a one time deal and back to the internet. I think by the end of the year HD DVD will be dead. They have no real titles comming out and Blu Ray has a ton. That along with the fact there is one company making a HD DVD player and about 6 for Blu Ray not counting PS3. You cant count LG either since the dual player does not really support HD DVD, just Blu Ray. None of the HD DVD interactive features are available with the LG where as the Blu Ray is completely supported.

Your welcome. You can also password protect with Windows but I never use that route. Thats just me personally.
