Running xp pro with all updates. For the life of me I can not get this patch to run? Tried to redownload it a few times. Just wont open or run? Any ideas

Personally I would think no more than 500. Depends on if your selling it to a real geek or not. For your average person 500 seems fair. The computer can play current games well. Not to many people worry about the nuts and bolts. For 2 or 3 more they can pretty much get one at wally world with vista. For your average user, this is a pretty nice setup. Unless your hardcore gammer not to many worry about fps of a card. So personally I would say 5 tops and 4 at the least. Just my 2 cents. In fact one of the strong selling points would be it has xp and not that horrid vista most people hate. Unless I messed up and you do have vista. Then oops sorry.

If he is close enough he may of been getting a free hotspot. Lots of places are starting to offer thoes. So it may not be stealing. Not sure how one would go about finding out. Friend of mine lives close enough to one of these free hotspots. I know the local college has it. Lets the public tap into when they want.

The important thing to rember is this. The impossible turns to possible with imagination and determination. 25 Years ago if someone said a teenage kid will take a garbage can, cardboard box, and a model airplaine and turn them into 3 diffrent computers more powerful than the ones that onece controlled our nukes. That someone would be locked up and given lots of meds. If someone said 25 years ago using a beam of light and once peace of plastic we can record movies and music on that plastic and turn around and play the movie and or music with the same beam of light. The impossible is now possible. Magic is no diffrent.

As with most tricks, you already pretty much know how its done, the problem is you just are unable to make yourself believe it. There are several tricks in this presentation rolled up into one. 1.In the crowd there was someone planted. An assistant as it were. Rember when you see this kind of stuff, chances are either there is one assistant or everyone is in on it. There are really companys that offer these types of people with insurance (sometimes big money!) if one of there people ever reveal themselfs. All kinds of legal mumbojumbo with that. To prove my point, while the "crowd" for copperfields disapearing satue of liberty were probally employess of his, he could of hired them as well. That trick, was simply move or point the camera to another spot and tada the satue was gone. As well with his walk through the wall of china. I mean think about it. How did he do it? Can't go under or through can ya? Well what else is left? He went over. Kinda handy having that boom camera on hand don't ya think? 2. After the card was put back into the deck he messes with the deck, palms "her card" and passes it off to his assistant. Gotta be quick and good but yea it can be done. 3. Now for the kicker. The tank itself was a plant. It was already in place. Its a gimmicked tank. Did you notice how he place the cloth over the tank window and was "rubbing it?" Then he scammed you into thinking he hands were "sinking" into it? He did this to hide the "gimmick" 4. You assume that its one sheet of glass, Its clear glass. So there is no way it is a scam as it were. Now you know, The tank has a slider in both the front and the back. Believe what you want but its the only way. These guys spend big money and tons of time praticing this kind of stuff. They design and buid allot of there own stuff. Your mind is telling you impossible to do. Sure its possible just have to think about it a bit. Rember camera angles, rember assistant and or the whole crowd is in on it. Its all in how you sell it. Oh one last thing. when he "threw" the cards at the tank why did he do that? Misdirection so no one would see he assistant putting the card in the tank from the back side. Notice how high and how much stuff is in the tank? The weeds and all the other stuff? Blocs the view in case his assistant screws up his timming a bit and you dont see a hand comming out of the back of the tank.

Nice presentation. He did good. I know how he did it. Got into magic about a year ago, Once you learn some basic stuff figuring out how its done is really easy. I bet if you gave it some thought you could figure it out yourself.

Well thats true. Would be handy for thoes that love ie7 and have no desire to use another browser. Not real sure how well maxthon gets along with ie7 personally I dont use it. So in short should of given it a bit more thought before I let my fingers type. Sorry man.

Not trying to be a smarty pants. But I think this has type of program has been around for sometime. Its called maxthon browser. From the looks of it pretty much same thing. Could be wrong. I used to use maxthon most the time until I found opera.

Yea I checked the cookie settings. testmy is no there to save. I do use opera browser and I wonder if its something with that. Will have to play with it to see whats up. Its really no big deal. Dosent matter. Just seems odd. Yep its opera. C Cleaner will not purge opera's private data. Will have to get in and see about fixing that. Just bored and goofing off.

Not sure why. But running c cleaner and even reboot the computer and it still shows me logged in until I log out. Its no big deal really, just seems like a pretty strong cookie.

Yea I forsure agree with organ shifter. Sounds like a big time nasty. Of late I have been really impressed with avg antispyware. That has found nastys that other programs have missed. If your unable to get on the net even though you tried the safe mode with networking then I would suggest trying msconfig,...start.....run..msconfig......click on the startup tab and disable just about everything. Someone hollar if I am wrong but I think he can disable EVERYTHING in STARTUP Tab and still be safe. I belive xp hides the important stuff from being disabled. Also in the same msconfig you can go to your boot tab and select normal startup load all drivers. Make sure that one is checked.

Bad graphics card? Also while I am not real crazy about recomending this. Type in start, run, msconfig. See what programs are starting with your computer. I assume you can still get on the net? IF you can that instead of msconfig use this free program, http://www.windowsstartup.com/download.php. Its called startup inspector, Run it, click on consult button at the top and disable anything not necessary, If unsure google it see what it is.

Hey joe. Just something you may enjoy. If you like figuring things out and such you could give opera browser a shot. Not saying its any better than what you use. What makes it diffrent is the ability to tweak it out just the way you want it. Make your right click just the way you want. It will speak text to ya, not a bad voice, on any web page. Just to give you a small example of how I tweaked my out. I can right click,hit magnify,and a free program I found will open up a magnifying glass. I can pretty much surf and use tabs without a mouse useing my key board. Just a idea to help with the boredum.

Ok open it up. While I dont have vista, try the bootloader option for vista, Reninstall vista bootloader, then click aply. See what happens. If that offers no luck, Click on online support and see if you can find what you need there.

Can you access your files from the drive vista is on? I assume you have vista on your slave drive? So can you access them from the master drive? Now do not quote me on this one. I believe microsoft changed there mind on installing vista and set it up more like xp. As long as its only on one machine its ok. Look into that more. I like swimmer have not installed vista on my machine. Will give it a year or so then put it on my slave drive.

If you have a floppy drive make sure you don't have a floppy in it. Make sure there are no cd's in your player, check both or all if you have more than one. You either have a bad boot sector or simply put, your hardrive is dead.
