This one is Super Strange. Gf is taking internet classes. Her Laptop Is clean, Websites works fine, Yet when she logs on to her class, It bogs down SUPER slow. Its like she is on Dial up. We have Cable Internet. She connects with a wireless router. Now if she gets on my computer. The Class is SUPER fast. We both run windows 7, Both Updated, It just makes no sense. Its just the class that does it, Only on her Laptop. Just Goofy, Any Ideas?? Tec Support swears its a laptop issue, Now that makes no sense. She has 6 Gig of Ram running A video card. There is no reason it should be doing this.

Well I picked up the Sony Walkman 16 gig mp3 Player. Been messing with it for the last 4 hours or so. Learning TONS!!! Making it more complicated than needed. You dont need to sync any player to it. I keep my music in there own folder. Example, Ac/DC Back in black in its own folder. It comes with its own Transfer "wizzard". Drag and Drop the music folder, or Open the walkman in windows 7, Find the Music folder and drag and drop. It took a bit to figure out the video, and getting it converted, But found some software that converts it fast. ICoolSoft. They had one for my sony and offer one for Ipod, Converted a movie in under 10 min. I simply go to the folder settings, and there is all my music. I tried a talking book. Works good. Even if you shut it down, When you start the player up again starts where it left off. Still messing with that part. No bookmarks that I have figured out yet. While I dont have lists, I could do it if I sync with windows media player. I have no need for it. The folders are in order, So its cool. I paid 100 at walmart. Super Glad I went with this one. Gives me the chance to walk before I run. Working 3rd shift is gonna get a bit easier. Gonna order the case and other stuff at amazon. I really suggest you give it a shot. You may be surprised. Especially if your new to mp3 players. Really easy.

I did take a HARD look at the Ipod and for me just can not see the benefit in my area. I live in a very small town in the midwest. So hot spots are few and very far between. I really don't travel that far or often. No need of a Iphone. Hate phones, and my simple straight talk 40 dollar phone with 30 bucks a month and I barely use 3 hours of the 16 hours and texting. Dont get me started on that rant. Spend a hour texting and it could be saved with a 10 min phone call. Want me to text 911 for you stupid cause you decided to txt and drive and ended up in a ditch. And last but not least, I wanna walk before I run. Play with a cheep one, then move up in a couple of years. Think the other thing is with Ipod you pretty much have to use stupid itunes. The zune not impressed. With the sony, You can use my fav player, Winamp to sync it up. They even have a whole web site, anythingbutipod.com that really helped me decide.

First I want to say I am sorry. Of late been posting TONS and feels like im spamming the boards. Im sorry. I am looking for a adapter to hook a mp3 player to t.v.. I am getting ready to order my first ever mp3 player. I decided to buy a a cheaper one, See if I use it, Like it bla bla bla before spending the big money. This is the one I am gonna buy. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Walkman-NWZS545RED-Video-Player/dp/B002IPHA3A/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1QABG1ODJXFJK&colid=32CZU5X2B0AXU. I know there is a adapter that hooks into the headphone jack and has 3 the 3 hook ups, the Red, Yellow and White. Unless you guys know something better. Have a new flat screen. One thing after TONS of research I have learned. The trick to any mp3 player is Knowing the format of the Video and Audio files it needs and the Software to convert the files for the player. So see how this all works out. If it does, In time I may buy the Ipod touch. Not crazy about apple, So I will look and see I can find a better one. Who Knows The one I buy, May be the one to have and use.

FINALLY got this figured out. Got rid of it. Right click I found the "group by" settings, Selected none, Its all better now. I can only say BRAIN FREEZE!! Not sure how I missed this. Thanks.
-
No. When I open the partition. It is now showing my files and folders under what looks like groups. Its like the partition now has group policies that I simply dont want. Group A-H and Grop I-P and Group Q-Z. I dont want the group Policies in this folder. Been Right Clicking trying to find a setting to get rid of it. I simply want it to show my Folder and Files With no groups. Hope that makes more sense.
-
Ok for some reason, I am seeing a partition I use for back up, Starting to show Groups, My folders are now in alphabetic Order. I have no Idea how to get rid of it. It shows Q-Z and How many folders are in that one.I-P and A-H and how many are in those as well. Hope that makes sense. For the life of me I can not get rid of it. Hate it. Thanks.

Still trying. I did hook it up and reboot the machine. No luck. Right click on the sound button and changed the default. This is funny. Worked fine with vista. Go figure.
-
Yea I did try that. Its not showing any of the HDMI and even installed?? There was one other option in the sound section. Clicked on it, set it as defualt. Nothing. No luck. I did download and install latest sound drivers.

TOSHIBA Model A505-S6998 Satellite with windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Trying to hook this up to the t.v. through HDMI. I get the picture just fine, But No sound. Shows No option for HDMI going to Control Panel, Then Sounds. It has GOT to be a driver issue, Or something simple. Hope you guys can help. I did install the drivers from toshiba web site for the sound. No Luck.

Sweet Computer. I ALMOST got a mac. In the end I really dont need it for work, Just to play. and of late I find myself kinda loosing interest in playing with computers. To many years messing with them. Kinda burnt out I guess.

My desktop monitor used to do this. The thing I found that worked. Is I tapped on it with my finger tip with the monitor on and it fixed the issue. Few light raps with the finger and its all better. Not saying you should do this, Just saying thats How I fixed mine. There are a few other things they say to try, that may help or make it worse. Google can help you out there.

ninjageek replied to ninjageek's topic in General Discussion
Ok, Now I know what I did wrong. Long story, But I deleted windows 7 from her laptop and reinstalled with Windows 7 64 bit pro. I bought two copies of it. Now if her Laptop throws a fit, I can reinstall no problem. Same way with my desktop. I needed to download the software from toshiba. Did that. All is well. Not sure if you can charge while using it, But works fine when you put the laptop to sleep. I thank you so very much. -

Ok, Yea sorry about forgetting ya starship. I went with the one right above yours. It was like a thousand. It was the next step up. I will dig around and try to find the model number forsure. Sweet laptop. Gf very happy with it. In turn makes me very happy with it. http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/retail-product.jsp?poid=452645 Toshibia A505-S6998 -
I dont remember the user that recommended my new laptop that I bought. I got a small problem. The gf has lost her charging cord for her digital cam. Before I head to radio shack in hopes of being able to replace it, I THINK one of the usb ports on her laptop can be used for charging. I know the user who recommended the tosihiba told me that if I remember right. Which USB port is used for charging?

I thought this website had been down for quite sometime. When I clicked on the bookmark, said the website was down doing some maintenance work. Wonder how many others are getting that message and not posting? Guess its time to update my bookmark. I just clicked on the forum link to see what would happen and poof here I am. Also just started using chrome today. Im really liking it. Maybe my new default browser. Opera has gotten Slow, And the latest version is horrid. Fire Fox is still ok. Maybe time to dump opera and bounce between firefox and Chrome. Find Chrome faster on my setup.

Not sure its a option. It may not be a bad Idea to hang on to your current set-up just in case ? As well, be nice to play games on and such. Just a Idea. Seem many go with Macs they are nice. Why they don't get them down in price so your average person can afford one is beyond Me. But yea forsure, If you can swing it easy enough, I say go for it. IMHO sure would be cool if you could just say this is the least I will take for it, If you decide to sell it. Making offers is hard.

Anyone tried Windows 7 yet? Is it worth it?
ninjageek replied to mstout24's topic in General Discussion
Well I just found out my new backup software should support it no problem I may have to give the 64 bit a shot. Acronis is to bloated and failed me twice, So never again. Nortons ghost 15 is Horrid. And My Favorite Nortons ghost 14 will not work with windows 7. So I am trying Shadow Protect. Pretty happy. Program is simple, Works well, and reviews and Google seem to like it. Oh if your looking for it. Here is a Link. http://www.storagecraft.com/shadow_protect_desktop.php You can get a free 30 day trial, and you can request a full version trial, The full version trial will give you the boot cd. Only one problem. Had trouble burning it. Finally burned the image file with ImgBurn and it booted and worked fine. Nothing else seemed to work. -

With the new year always a good idea to backup your current data. While some believe windows 7 is bullet proof, you may find yourself needing to reinstall it. Few useful backup programs I like and use. For Browsers, I use Opera and Firefox. Use this to back them up. http://www.favbrowser.com/backup/ I also use winamp. I found I like install creator http://www.clickteam.com/website/usa/installcreator.html I simply insert the path to the back up location, Then When I get to the restore section I insert the same path, Creates a nice exe file, Click on the file and Winamp is all ready to go. You could use install creator for browser backup or any other item you may need backed up. Its free, Makes a nice simple exe file. Impresses the crap out of your friends. Most of all its free to. Always burn your backup to disk. Hard drives do fail.

I am probably the last to know about this trick Step 1: Right click. Step 2: Click create folder. Step 3: Name your sparkly, new folder this, "GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" and press enter. Step 4: Blink as the folder changes form to look like the control panel.
