@gourame i have already tried that before but it doesn't help. sorry

Here is the steps: 1) Once you are now in the canopy platform, click on the tools, then click on AP Evaluation. You will see a list of access points. Look for the RSSI with higher value and get the corresponding color code. 2)Go to Configuration and click Radio. ( remember the default color code ) Change the color code with the new one. 3) save changes and then reboot.

@drizzt1911 nbamaniac is correct, maybe the untrained installer don't properly orient your antenna to the nearest base station that's why your reception is quite poor. if u can access ur canopy platform try switching to other access points with higher value of RSSI.
-
@drizzt1911 It's on your antenna parameters has the problem, that's the implication of having RSSI of less than 500 and a high jitter value. I strongly suggest to place a Stinger on your antenna to boost your RSSI above 500. Your microwave link is very poor that's why unreliable (fluctuating download speed).

I guess smartbro have already upgraded there systems ...

Ur welcome nbamaniac I know exactly how it feels to have a SMARTBROken.hehehe
-
email to [email protected] for your concerns about your smartbro internet.indicate your service reference number, your location, contact number on the email. include your bandwidth test.

@nbamaniac RSSI (stands for Radio Signal Strength Indicator) and Jitter are two most important parameters in a microwave link for motorola canopy SM and the base station. RSSI - indicates the power received by your antenna. Jitter can be thought as noise in a transmission. The lesser the value the better. The installer / smartbro field technician will need to test the values for Jitter and RSSI, to determine if the link is good or poor. Minimum values for a good link for RSSI = 500 or above and for jitter = 4. jitter above 4 may result to intermittent connection.

Almost 2 weeks now I don't see any problem with my SMARTBRO connection. I missed talking to a CSR.hehehe.. I suggest flood an email complaints to the CSR @nbamaniac, they will respond quickly thru emails than calls.

Your problem is very simple, all you've got to do go to a tinsmith (metal work shop), they can fabricate it for you, just show the specifications / the drawing the i posted. it will just cost you around 200 pesos or less.

@drizzt1911 my previous post on page 10, this might help you.

hello @drizzt1911 I would like to suggest to read my previous post about the stinger for motorola canopy, I'm sure this will be a great help

RSSI value of more than 700 will just give you an excellent link to the base station, but it is not that significantly required. This would not translate to higher Bandwidth (high upload and download rate), it would be a waste of power.

read on my previous post

Probably yes, my upload and download efficiency are improved, consistent value at 100% (you can find the link test at your canopy platform). My Jitter value ranging only from 2 to 4. There is really a great improvement.

You must report any complains to the CSR thru an email with the snapshots of the bandwidthtest ( documentation of the events). Because I have noticed that they won't respond immediately if you just reported it over a telephone conversation. my latest status

@kaiten01 based on your canopy parameters you do have a very good link already. RSSI of 600+ is very good, i guess you don't need to have this Stinger. but anyway you can still try it if you like to increase further the RSSI. But it is not necessary to have an RSSI of more than 700, because this will not increase further the bandwidth of the signal. The main purpose of the stinger is to establish a very good microwave link between the canopy SM(atenna) and the canopy access point (the base station).
-
No problems
-
@kaiten no wires or additional cable, just that stinger alone. just slip the canopy subscriber module into that opening of the Stinger.

Guys there's a hole on the bigger diameter circle( it's open on one side) which i forgot to show in the drawing.
