  15. A lot of those fake e-mails do look very real and the sites that go with them do to. Some people don't realize that the message is fake and click on the link. I forwared every Paypal message I get that asks me to click on a link in an e-mail to [email protected]. Even though I haven't fallen for any of those scams, I forwarded them anyway, because it helps shut down these sites.
  16. The world needed more people thinking like you during Y2K. The problem with this change is so many things we use everyday rely on accurate time. It's kind of like a Y2K7, except only about a 10th the size/problem.
  17. The FF tester is never accurate for me either. That's another reason to LOVE Testmy.net.
  18. There should be a text box that pops up. Since you're on dial-up it could take a while.
  19. I'm not sure what modem you should get since I'm on Comcast, but I don't think you need a separate line all the way from the poll. I have a Motorola SB-4220. When my 'net was put in, they kept it at one line from the pole to the house. They put a 3-splitter 2 TV's and net on it, with a "fancy" splitter on it and ran a whole separate cable line from the splitter to the cable modem. I say "fancy, because this is one of those splitters that are hard to find in stores. It had three connections with one at a separate Db level for the modem. They also put amps (I think) on the TV lines.
