  1. First open Task Manager (obviously). To open it press Ctrl+Alt+Del. Then with task manager press Alt+Printscrn (printscreen). Holding the Alt button takes a pic of just the currently selected window. Then open MS paint and press Ctrl+V and save it. I recommend saving it as a jpg or png.
  2. Apple doesn't make processors. IBM and I think, Motorola used to. Intel is going to be making the processors for Apple for now on.
  3. Too many to count. I have the all organized in folders though, lol
  4. If they, installed it, and the MS check site says your key is invalid, chances are that the people who installed it, installed it on many computers with the same key. That would technically make your copy of windows pirated.
  5. They do. Yea,I know your not impling anything. Atleast it hasn't seemed to affect my internet, I think. Although, my router keeps renewing the DCHP at around the same times as the attacks.
  6. 2.4Ghz devices can affect your speed but ,Radio interference (2.4Ghz phones, etc) shouldn't have an effect on MTU. It has to do with your connection type. "Q: MTU: How high can/should mine be? (#652) A: MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) will vary with connection type. Cable and non-PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol Over Ethernet), can use up to 1500. PPPoE connections (WinPoet, RASPPPOE, Enternet, etc.), can only use up to 1492. However, WinPoet and Enternet MTU must be set by hand in the registry. Others may use DRTCP to set MTU."
  7. Microsoft, and most people recommened 1.5 times virtual memory for your computer. So yours should be 1152MB (768x1.5=1152). If you have two or more drives you may want to put the swap file (virtual mem) on that drive.
  8. Yea, but I haven't put my IP address publicly anywhere.
  9. You have to do it yourself. That same FAQ tells you how to do it. BTW, welcome to the forums.
  10. No I don't want one. Anyway, I'm asking because, lately when checking my router logs, I've been noticing a few ping of death attacks over the past few days. This hasn't happened before. They seem to be coming from random IP's, rather than just one. Obviously I'm not to worried because the router is stopping the attacks, just wondering.
  11. There is an MTU FAQ here. Edit: Make sure you have the same MTU setting on your computer. The person talking about getting 25-30Mb/s, is talking about lan speed, not a connection to the internet speed.
  12. Just curious to see what speeds are popular. Poll reset/changed on 4/4/06
  13. Nice speeds. Wish I had those speeds.

  17. If I remember correctly, Gateway bought out Emachines. Emachines does make a quiet machine though. No HDD's that sound like small chainsaws.

    Got Sound?

I just thought of another thing. I had a similar problem, where stuff, maybe it was just Cd's, I forgot would only play in WMP. Anyway I set the CD playback from digital to analog, and it worked fine after.
  19. From the Comcast forums: Roll-out Schedule At this time, the following markets are the only markets that have officially been confirmed to have the new speeds shown above. If your market is not in this list, please continue to check back in this thread periodically to check for updates. MA - all of MA ME - all of ME NH - all of NH PA - Philadelphia (includes Willow Grove, NE Philadelphia, Bucks County, Delaware County, Montgomery County, and Center City Philadelphia)
  20. Don't worry too much. I'm in MA where the upgrade is complete and have gotten upto 6Mb a few times, so far. I mostly get around 5Mb.
  21. Yet you have a Get Firefox avatar...
  22. Exceeding your ISP's caps (aka: uncapping) is not legal. ISP's montior their networks, so you would probably get caught pretty quick.
