Hi guys. Did anyone experienced this problem? i just reinstalled a fresh copy of my xp sp2 and this thing happened. i did all the tweak and stuffs that i used on my previous OS and i cant seem to understand why when i am doing a smart test 1k file and it stalls, the speed burst and suddenly makes 3 stalls before it completes the test. i never had this problem before with my old OS and whats weird about it is that its the same xp installer that i used on my previous system. checked my isp and its not on their side. if anyone can shed some light on this matter that would be so generous. tnx

lol speed drops down here 300 kbps. and thats way too annoying, our base station hasn't upgraded yet as far as i know. in the meantime i am having problems with my speed after i installed a fresh xp. did the tweak and all, maybe it takes days to fully maximize the connection. my connection stalls, it goes up and boom it drops way too fast. so by the way what did the tech guys do when they went there? changed the canopy or just settings?

cant change ip, even so you will just be redirected to smart portal. limited connectivity with that option and you can only see that portal in your screen unless you'll revert to auto ip detection. tried that and its painstakinly not worth it. @kimeas at your quality of service (QoS) you can try enabling the values below 100, 100, 100, 100. those 4 fields there and see if it works. also do houscleaning with your pc. remove spywares, run antivirus. if all else fails you can do what chinitaneth says, call tech support and complain.

hi, sorry i have been away for days, anyways with your prob, i think its with smartbro that users must let their TC/IP settings for the internet protocol set to auto. try to switch it back to auto and don't use manual ip. try that one out.

finaly you made it.. you can try logging in through the smartbro portal next. hope that would solve the problem.

at the first few pages of this topic it discussed how you can access your canopy lite version. if you tried that and it didn't work out perhaps it is that they have a new way to access it. you can ask the tech guys that installed your canopy, furthermore i cant help you out that much because i only tried mine that works for 169. but don't worry i will try to dig some info with your current canopy version. in the meantime you might want to try out some tweaks to improve your speed. i got similar speeds like you did when i first came here.

hi there chinitaneth. welcome to the forum. where you aware if the tech guys that installed your canopy locked out your canopy settings? where you able to access your canopy setting using your browser before? is your smart canopy the old one or is it the canopy lite version? hope you can give us some info on this and well see if we can find a way to help you out.

And yes im running on their 384kbs limit. let me know the results after.

we have the same advertised speed Riean smartbro in my area didnt upgrade their homebase aswell. so how was it? is there a difference? i bet you haven't tweaked it yet via registry like cablenut. as far as i know i only got the speed i wanted when i used the cablenut and that setting on my canopy. feel free to look up to other guides and you might try other approach to it.

try to copy the values i used, anyways its all the same fields. just give it a try. reboot and try use speed test here. let me know the results. keep your old settings in a paper so you can put it back in case it doesn't work.

hi everyone. a friend of mine sent me his dell inspiron 1100 2 years ago, not much compared with todays newer laptops, arrived here from boston,USA. first time i used it and did some checks if its still doin good i found out that its overheating too much, i did some searches and find means on how to fixed it or put it back to its normal and should be state, i found its fan and heat sink clogged with dust, reason why its overheating fast, after i put it back on i was amazed how the temp went low. Just to show how much i would like to keep something from a friend and its kept in good condition. . sad thing tho he didn't send me a thermal paste and a spare battery along with it. by the way im from zamboanga,phi. still using his dell.

updating i guess my speed goes tops to here max atm. ill post again if i have tried a different canopy settings and tweaks. i'm using cablenut as of this result

i just finished it all the cleaning part. no trojan stuff was found and i liked the speed when my pc restarted. now i guess im ready for the next phase?
