20 Steps to Make SmartBro Faster
coolbuster2007 replied to coolbuster2007's topic in Smart Bro (Wi-fi)
as what i've previously posted, its not always 7th heaven with smartbro. -
there is a provision there that legal matters be settled in makati or manila courts, if im not wrong.
-
pay them up promptly coz you might end up being collected with penalties and charges which are unnecessary and avoidable if payment is done on time. worse, you will be sued in nowhere else but in Makati or Metro Manila courts. remember that Smart Broadband Inc. is not a crappy company. it's the sister company of PLDT, Smart Network, Philippine Daily Inquirer and GMA if im not mistaken. they are bigtime and can afford all bigtime lawyers to file a class suit against non-payers. the reason why you are still connected is because they're giving you the chance to pay up. believe me, your statements of account will continue to flow for 1 year because it is what is in the agreement/contract which you signed upon application. what's best to do is to optimize your computer and maximize your internet speed to obtain better download and upload speeds. i will give you an example of getting a benefit for paying before or on due date. last month, i paid my bill 3 days before due date. my bill for this month reflects a P100 discount. so instead of the usual P999, i was billed P100 less, which is P899 only. see the difference?

kudos! 1. Try to go back to the 20 Steps. http://www.testmy.net/t-20438.0 2. Try to use the cablenut setting in my Blog as an update. http://coolbusteratyourservice.blogspot.com/ 3. Use OpenDNS. http://www.opendns.com/ 4. Right click internet connection icon in task bar, click repair. That will help.

you're welcome. avast home can suffice.

I'm not saying that AVG is not good but you can try Avast. Download Avast first before uninstalling AVG. make sure you disconnect from the internet while uninstalling AVG. delete also the registry keys of AVG. DL location of Avast http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Disable your Windows firewall and replace it with Comodo Firewall Pro http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/download_firewall.html Thru TuneUp's startup manager, allow only Avast, Comodo and Ad-Aware to run on start up.

you will experience lag when using a proxy server. based on my own experience with a proxy, lag is present upon playing freestyle philippines, server of which is within the country. how much more if the game server is located abroad. @ lapako please post ALL the software/programs you have installed in your computer. and i mean all including anti virus, anti spyware, firewall. i am challenged by your slow speed despite all the tweaks. there must be something that's making your speed miserable.
-
have experienced the same last week. try these: 1) turn off system restore 2) use avg, avast, trojan hunter, or norton 3) kill the virus in safe mode 4) if you know how, delete the registry key of the virus so it will not reoccur 5) last option (because it's a strong virus): back up document files and reformat hard disk

please post in english even in the simplest form so readers from other countries can comprehend. try to visit my blog, I got a cablenut setting there that might be of help to you.

i flush it before i speed test -
something wrong happened to your connection for three days so its possible that something has been changed. i believe the tech support told you to release or renew your tcpip configuration. did the operator tell you to write in your command prompt "ipconfig /release" or "ipconfig /renew"? try to check again your cablenut adjuster and see if there's a change. if so input the right value in the box provided.

welcome to the forum. if you're already satisfied with the speed you get from smartbro, don't tweak. -
as what others suggest, try using a binocular

It's Canopy SM (Subscriber Module) To access Canopy ---> http://www.testmy.net/t-18616.0 To get an override plug ---> ask me.

i know most of the time you get fast speed. just don't expect it to be consistent. there are times when it's not always 7th heaven for smartbro.
-
i didn't. but it is possible. just similar to having a phone extension or a second line for a cellphone postpaid account.
