  2. @ lokopao. here are my answers: hi coolbuster. thanks for the tips. it made my download boost. I change my quality of service (in my canopy page) as follows: 1. i enabled my hi-priority channel 2.i change my Low priority uplink CIR: from 0 to *100, Low priority Downlink CIR: from 0 to *100, High priority uplink CIR: from 0 to 100 and High priority Downlink CIR: from 0 to *100 i did not suggest this. where or from whom did you get this procedure? i also did some tweaks about cable nut. btw cool, in your answer no.2 *try inputting higher RWin scaled values in the 20 Steps, can you just make a guest and not follow the recommended RWIN values, so that you can increase your RWin values? yes at all times, it is your prerogative. what scale factor did you use? 4 and 2? or 8 and 4? before it was 4 & 2 then 8 and 4; please try to check out my settings in my blog i got a new post there as an update also, did you follow Van buren tweaks guide? nope what way did u change your canopy settings and how bout your tweakings? http://www.testmy.net/t-18616.0 you use only cable nut? yes thank you very much for the help.. you're welcome
  3. ok. let's try these: 1. download the tcpip patch english version from here http://www.lvllord.de/?url=downloads&lang=en 2. install it. allow it to operate behind firewall and anti-virus (coz some antivirus like AVG and Norton will mistakenly detect the patch as virus) 3. at the command prompt press "C" in your keyboard which stands for "Change" value 4. if it asks for the value input 100 5. input "yes", exit command prompt then restart pc. 6. download/install/run CCleaner---> www.ccleaner.com/download/
  4. @elvin 1234 can i know the principle of using a dish and a canopy. it is usually used when your canopy location is far from the AP. the dish will help capture your AP's signal correct me if im getting it wrong. is stinger's purpose organizing recieved signal? it is used to get signal stability esp if there's a distance issue can you give me a briefing how signal travels on air. is it like a laser beam on movies? a straight line? or is it scattered on air? your canopy receives and transmits radio signals which travel in wave form.
  5. I have listed all the necessaries to build a fast PC except the processor. My requirements for a processor: 1. Must be compatible to a motherboard that is SLI compatible. 2. Must have good coolant fan to beat heating up. 3. At least dual core. Planning to buy these and assemble before the year ends. Your suggestions are appreciated.
  6. @ lokopao11 welcome to the community. there are many factors why you do not get desired speed or, at least, the advertised speed of smartbro. here's some of the tips to obtain satisfactory speed. you should: 1. tweak your canopy subscriber module 2. try inputting higher RWin scaled values in the 20 Steps 3. regularly check and clean your system from viruses, trojans, spywares, adwares, junk files 4. use softwares that are effective but aren't memory hogs 5. see to it that your antenna is aligned to the nearest smart cellsite (your access point) and not blocked by trees, high walls, or building/s 6. give more time to read the threads here, you will learn a lot. To open canopy page ---> http://www.testmy.net/t-18616.0 hope the tips help.
  7. no, but you can hide it for the purpose of privacy. there's a software that can do that for you http://www.hide-ip-soft.com/
  8. i like that stinger built from a junk dream cable sat dish. looked hi-tech but can anyone manifest if it can boost up speed, esp if our antenna is just few blocks away from our AP (base station)?
  9. @ cain91 welcome to the forum. the test you did suffered from a glitch, particularly your DL. before you go tweaking, kindly do another or several more tests and post the results so we can see the real score.
  10. good point. i am not against Erap or anyone around him (i feed myself anyway) but the tactics they are doing are like the stories of Erap's shelved movies, to use the poor and the less privileged as the main reason of their existence - when in fact in reality - they themselves have not saved the country's ass from poverty! it's all drama and people got tired of it! no wonder the participants of the staged noisy rallies have decreased.
  11. 20 years & 1 day up to 40 years. and check this out. when the decision becomes final & executory, of course after so many years of trials hearing motions for recons (count another 2-4 years), Erap can avail of a presidential pardon even if he will not ask for it! many people asked. what's so damn special about this guy?
  12. yes we understand. it's good you replaced your IP addresses with asterisks for security purposes. here's my interpretation: 1) that 125.60.***.*** is the assigned IP address of smartbro in your area or your proxy server (in case you use one). Every device connected to the public Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a 'dotted-quad') and look something like 127.0.0.1. Since these numbers are usually assigned to internet service providers within region-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the region or country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet. An IP address can sometimes be used to show the user's general location. 2) while that 192.168.***.** you are referring to is the logical address of your network adapter or what we popularly know as LAN Card. The IP address uniquely identifies computers on a network. An IP address can be private, for use on a LAN, or public, for use on the Internet or other WAN. IP addresses can be determined statically (assigned to a computer by a system administrator) or dynamically (assigned by another device on the network on demand). hope these answer your query.
  13. there have been feedback though unverified.
  14. The Sandiganbayan Special Division ruled before noontime today, September 12, 2007, that former Philippine President Joseph Estrada a.k.a Erap is guilty beyond reasonable doubt for the crime of plunder and is sentenced to a maximum jail sentence of up to 40 years. The Sandiganbayan imposed the lesser penalty of reclusion perpetua to Erap, which means imprisonment ranging from 20 years and one day to 40 years. The special court also ordered the forfeiture in favor of the Philippine Government of P542,701,000 with interest and income earned inclusive of the amount of P200M deposited in a foundation set up by Estrada, and the forfeiture of P189M inclusive of interest and income earned deposited in the Jose Velarde account as well as the Boracay mansion in New Manila, Quezon City, Philippines. The charges include getting payoffs from gambling lords, taking commissions in the purchase of shares by government insurance funds, diverting tobacco taxes for personal use and maintaining a bank account under the false name of Jose Velarde during his term as Philippine President. This decision of the Sandiganbayan is historical. Do you believe it was fair for Filipinos? or unfair for Erap? Speak up and share whatever views you have!
  15. does having a stinger assure you of getting faster speed?

  17. 9/12/07 5:42 am MLA time
  18. there's no such thing as a safe browser. viruses, trojans, spywares, adwares, even bugs will always be there since programs to kill or control them will be marketed. it's always an equilibrium! know what i mean?
  19. yup. though CS called me up last night & told me that my base station upgrade will be put into consideration. just hoping it will be soonest.
