my guess is it's either you have a new model of the canopy or its running a different firmware. there's why you can't change your settings, looks like you have lower maximum amount. you only have 512, whereas the others have 1000. same for download and upload burst. btw, is that really vista or just a theme? and also, you have too many programs running in the background, which contributes to slower speed.

on your canopy page go to tools, AP evaluation. click rescan APs and look for the one that has the best settings. with jitter of 1-5, RSSI of 600+. take note of its color code. then go to configuration, click radio, then put the color code. save changes then reboot

sustained uplink and sustained dowlink to 448, download burst and upload burst to 1024. if your speed goes down, just revert back. i see that your a "talented deviant". does that refer to deviantart? if so,can i see your gallery?

you should change your settings to match the ones on the screenshot. although coolbuster found a different seting. instead put 448 and 1024 respectively.

@beldeti aboout ur question if the 20 steps could be used in conjunction with elijahpaul's, the answer is yes. if the settings in your canopy are different from the one in the screencshot, you should change it to match the screenshot. click save changes and then reboot. if you can't change the settings of your canopy, maybe it is locked. search for the RJ-11 reset plug in the forums. also, try to browse all the posts, there are issues that say that TCPOptimizer and cablenut can't be used together. although it works fine for me,it is not so for other systems. also check for unwanted programs that run in the background of your system that could be hogging valuable resources.

hmm, finally the real thing. im tired of seeing "microsoft windows SP3" on the shelves of some stores and torrent files which are just basically remodeled SP2( a friend of mine is using one of that, it only has some programs and themes bundled in).

this was before they even installed my connection. the installers were having a bad time looking for my place since it is in a remote depressed location(one of the reasons i have to make do with smartbro, because it is wireless). after 2 reschedules, they still can't find it. so i called them to give exact directions. after i gave them, they said they are going to put my call on hold. that took 15 minutes. then they picked up to say they were going to put me STILL on hold, so i said "anak ng... on hold na naman??!" which they didn't reply to and just put me on hold anyway. i tell you, i looked like a fool there listening to that jingle they're playing.

@beldeti go to start menu> run, in the window that comes out type cmd, then you will got to the command prompt. that's where you input those commands. @luwi just keep trying. look for other ways to tweak,specially if your using cablenut, try to search for other configuration. you could try gourame's. i'll attach it.

i think all programs benefit from dual core. but if a system is to be used solely for games then i think it's too much. if you think that 1 GB is not enough, then go ahead and buy more. its all a matter of preference anyway.and of course, your budget. if you can afford all that you listed, then go ahead.

if you are stripping wires then you have to be careful that it doesn't look like you messed it up on purpose too

if your only using it for games, i think you should opt for the video card since you won't be needing that much processing speed from a dual core. also i think for games,you already have a LOT of ram(2 GB). maybe you could decrease it to around 1 GB and if your budget is enough you could get dual core.

not only for dota but for the whole warcraft III game . but it is true, in terms of internet connection speed, no one really gets enough.
