  1. hmm..trouble is,my ccleaner is kind of buggy. ill try to reinstal it. heres what it looks like. see where some buttons have no text.
  2. good for you who can easily swap ISPs. im stuck with smartbro since no other isp, or telephone line for that matter, can reach my area. i live in a remote depressed location.
  3. could you please give a step by step guide on how to use pfconfig? i tried to use before but it asked for a router, which i don't have.so i just picked a random router. are you using a router? if not, please tell how you configured yours.
  4. I have some questions about this utility program and also to sort of advertise it. It is called EasyCleaner and you can find it here http://www.download.com/ToniArts-EasyCleaner/3000-2094_4-10522776.html?tag=lst-0-2 it says directly from the site that: "EasyCleaner is a small program that searches through Windows registry for entries that are pointing nowhere. EasyCleaner also lets you delete all kinds of unnecessary files like temps and backups. You can search for duplicate files and you can view some intresting info about your disk space usage. You are also able to manage startup programs, invalid shortcuts, and add/remove software list." I've been using it for some time and i think it works just fine, and my speed is getting to 400kbps now(my isp's advertised speed is only 384kbps). I'm just not sure if its registry cleaning tool also cleans up tweaks from cablenut. If it does, then EasyCleaner and cablenut isn't compatible. Nonetheless, its a great utility. Downside is its temporary internet file deletion tool only supports IE. Think its worth a try? And also if somebody can find out if it does erase registry tweaks made by cablenut, that would be a great help. Thanks.

  6. @Mangtom aren't you the one that uses 2 combined smartbro connections in one pc using a router? is it that good? too bad that 2 accounts is kind of steep for a student like me.
  7. no matter where i look, all i see are hardware specifications, which in short is plain gibberish to me. can't find one thats easy to understand.
  8. i hope it is the tweaks, if not, someone's asking for it. its a good thing that the installers didn't notice that you were messing with the canopy, if they found out, they might charge you for breaking it. i heard from the ones that came here that they cost 15k each. my speed hasn't gone down yet. hope this goes on forever. :::.. 9. i think you can look for the answers here. but in general go to tools, ap evaluation, click scan ap, select a suitable ap that has low jitter and high rssi, take note of its color code, then go to configuration, click radio and put your color code there. click apply changes then reboot. that roughly sums it up. btw, here's my current result :::::::::::::::::.. 11. hate to butt in, but i think that smoke is just some exhaust fumes from your behind!
  12. try out these sites www.glenallentelecom.com/sendfar_outdoor_access_point.html http://www.smartwifi.org.ph/technical-advice/what-antenna-does-smart-bro-is-using/

  14. that could be possible. i thought that sendfar's longer range comes from its physical design. it's the one that has 2 antenna-like protrusions right? maybe its antennas give it that ability. anyway, we need more pros and cons to better compare the two. also, can we also tweak sendfar's setting like the way we do with canopy?
  15. yeah, i figured as much. downside is i can't avoid having slow browsing speed while downloading torrents. im suffering from the lease expires in 7 days just like gourame right now. will this affect my speed?
  16. i suggest you go here http://www.testmy.net/t-18616.0 also if 169.254.3.3 doesn't work for you, try 169.254.1.2 goodluck
  17. @coolbuster2007 i tried to use that program and it asked me for the brand of my router. the trouble is, i don't have one. is port forwarding impossible if you don't have a router?
  18. so far all i have read is that one advantage of sendfar to canopy is that it has a longer range. which is very relative since all of us have varying distances to the basestations, i for example is very near a basestation so i won't be benefiting much from the longer range. if, however, someone reports of other advantages in terms of speed, reliability and consistency, i will surely consider it.
  19. i think i've found the reason why my speeds are so slow, look here's my current scores ::::::::::.. 23. yeah, i guess you're right. btw, after trying out loads of different ip addresses i finally got to access my canopy, its 169.254.1.2(the first post says 169.254.3.3) here's the deal, here i was so excited that i will finally be able to tweak my canopy settings when lo and behold, there's nothing to tweak anymore, looks like the installers already did it for me. looks like not all installers are slackers, in fairness to all smart brostaff.
