    reg files

That's actually a better way to have it. Right click the reg file and click Merge to add it to the registry. If you really want merge to be the default action I can tell you how to do that.
  4. Is there any particular reason you're paying for AOL on top of your cable bill? If not it's just a waste of money IMO.
  5. If I remember correctly AOL has a built-in accelerator service. (Never used AOL, never will) I guarantee you those are not real speeds. You're merely running through an AOL proxy which is caching the tests. What type of internet do you have? (Dialup, cable, DSL...)
  6. Maybe one of the the Windows keys is stuck...
  7. Test again co0mputerwize, and don't use the back button to retest also turn off any internet accelerators...

Maybe you don't realize it, but you were more rude than anyone else. Blanking out your posts certainly doesn't help your reputation either. As for arrogant pigs... that's a new one I've been called an ape before, but not a pig...

Too bad there's not a "Are you for real?" smiley... I'm picturing a combination of sarcasm and wtf. 55Mbps difference is a massive peak... If you won't take our advice it's fine with me... disabling Norton might help too (pos software...)

You do realise the highest speed Adelphia offers is 6/768? (The Premier plan)
  11. Try downloading Everest and see if it will identify your hardware so you can get drivers. Also, what's the model of your Dell?
  12. Looks like you have a virus or trojan... for one thing, regedit is supposed to be in the Windows directory, and it's an exe, not com...
  13. Looks nice, probably gonna be expensive too...
  14. interesting... definitely ugly..
  15. Welcome to the forum This really depends who you talk to and how you calculate the conversions. Many of the conversions are rounded, hence the variance. For example, a common way to convert Kbps to kB/s is to divide by 8.192. Then 6895Kbps would be 841.67kB/s. Google apparently converts Kbps to Mbps by dividing by 1024, another common conversion. See here and here for more info. php (I think this post made sense, but I'm falling asleep so it's hard to tell )
  16. Looks like a bad cable to me... maybe a bad NIC, but that 200ms local hop is bad... (it's on the other side of your router)
  17. Oh sure, NOW they do it... a couple days after I discover the reason I haven't getting any email is because my inbox was full and doesn't delete old messages (plus trash counts toward your limit)
  18. Please post sources if you post news articles...

  20. AIM file transfer on DirecWay works sometimes. I have had it work before, but generally it doesn't work. Receiving files has worked more often than sending, and if the person you're sending to is behind a firewall or NAT, chances are it won't work. I would recommend FTP for transferring files, although you would need a server that you could both access. Email works as well for files under 10MB.
