It might increase utilization more because it's highly compressed data... but so is a zip file... This dl test shouldn't be much different than downloading a file...

Well... his description of "these performance tests" is a little off... as for the CPU utilization, I would naturally assume processing data such as a file download would increase utilization significantly...

Probably nothing... it sounds like the problem is with the websites you visit, not IE... edit: does it give you an error here?

what error are you getting? It works fine for me...

then you need to install the drivers for the sound card

1-make sure the speakers are plugged in correctly and turned on 2-right click My Computer, click Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager, make sure there isn't any red x's or yellow !'s by anything 3-open Start-Programs-Accessories-Entertainment-Volume Control, make sure nothing is muted or turned all the way down 4-in Volume Control still, click Options, check Advanced Controls, in the left column click the Advanced button, at the bottom of the window that pops up, check if Digital Output only (or similar) is checked, try alternating settings

My P4 has been up almost constantly for 13 months... I can have it up for over a week straight before it starts to lag, and that's with heavy usage... my other computers... P4-dunno the exact uptime, but it's usually up for over a couple weeks at a time... always on... P3-running for 34 days currently, always on... P3-old POS, can't last more than 3 days or so
