That sucks about your ram... I had that happen to a PCI card once... I ended up using the Bonzai distro, mainly because it's only a 180MB download (also virtually the same as Debian) I'm getting it set up at the moment...

No... the reverse DNS lookup just didn't work right for some reason... it doesn't have anything to do with your computer...

I'm looking to set up a PC with Linux. I want to use it as a firewall, DHCP server, network file server, and maybe proxy, antivirus, and spam filter as well. I have tried Smoothwall and IPCop... they both do good as a firewall, DHCP server, and proxy, but they're very minimal kernels and I can't get a network file server set up... Does anyone have suggestions for which Linux distro to use and firewall, etc programs? (I'm plannning to use Samba for a file server and Apache for a web server) Thanks

Welcome to the forum tomcat101 See here and here for tweaks. As for BitComet and DC++... I'm not even sure they will work on satellite (and if they do, it won't be very fast...) also you can't download more than 169MB in 4 hours due to Direcway's Fair Access Policy (unless you have the Pro package, then it's 350MB)
